The features of social
values
Social values
are characterized as a dynamic socio-cultural
"complex". Values in the social
and philosophical theory are revealed as
important
"personal" parameter
of building of social
sphere and manifestation of the main characteristics of the phenomenon of
"subjectivity". Values became the condition for the
formation of "social competence" and social activity in all social
spheres. Values are reflected in social activities and social assessments. Values
participates in the process of regulation of social relations and in the socio-cultural
"targeting".
Values are describing as normative
practice. Values are indicating as an intentional system. Values are determining
as a universal value. Values are seen as the result of choice. Values are revealing
as a social phenomenon. Values are defined as a specific sphere of perception
and experience of social and cultural reality. Values influence on the process
of modernization of society. "Values form an ideal object of value-sensual
acts" [1,
p. 603].
Values in
modern society became an important factor of communication as an "operational"
parameter of existence and intersubjective connections. Values
determine the criteria and factors of stability and "resistance" of
the individual and social groups in the form of cultural values
and "relevant" values of the social realms at the stage of formation of basic
institutions, tools and conditions of global development for all types of
society and in the different social spheres.
Contemporary social theory
shows interest to the value’s sphere as a mental-moral complex
and factor of unity and integrity of
self-awareness. Study of the value consciousness involves the consideration of
the cognitive-emotional components of the value’s relations and value
consciousness. Modern social philosophy reflects the consideration of
value deformation at the level of understanding and implication of social
norms, "rules" of behavior, cultural traditions,
"principles" of life as well as change of value orientations and
value "content".
Modern society is characterized by
the "dynamism" of values as an important indicator of
social change and social development as well as new social and cultural priorities
as the basis for new social and cultural communication. Social thought and
social practice take into account the "critical" assessment of
"criteria", regulators and norms of social relations and social
development as well as the existence of the person himself and social groups.
Social theory characterizes social being as a whole with a position of value
characteristics and content.
Values
for modern society manifest cultural openness and in parallel a
tendency to "self-understanding" of person in modern society and
culture. Values specify the conditions for "meaning
formation" in culture and cultural life.
Values include meaningful and semantic commencement of cultural being. "Semantic"
components of evaluation are indicated for all types of social activity as an important.
The value relation presupposes the deep meanings of the available states of
human life and human activity.
Transformation
of the ideas about universality, modality, understanding, regulating norms and
values takes place in contemporary society. The values of modern
society are seen as a factor of "differences" and competition in
modern society. Values are revealed as the motivation complex. The value’s
sphere is characterized by ubiquity and "everydayness" of
evaluations.
The
values of modern society are associated with the building and reconstruction
of "qualitative" social models. These models show not only the most
adequate "image" of social reality but also the strategy of activity
in the socio-cultural perspective. Values become part of the ways
and skills of "rational" behavior and learning.
Values
have a direct connection with social dynamics. Values
construct prerequisites for the transformation of life and social
experience. Values of contemporary society and culture reflect
the diversity of meanings and functional aspects of the social structure as
well as social connections and relations.
Evaluation
of social reality involves the relativization of values, value
"content" and variety of types of reactions and motivational factors.
Social reality is associated with value meanings and value consciousness. The
values of modern society are characterized by the blurring of the
value content of culture, instability and dynamism of social values.
Theory of values reflects the dependence and interconnection of the
subjective, social and cultural functions of values. The theory of values
in the context of problems of social ontology and social theory shows
the absence of a common and acceptable definition of "value’s
meanings", elements of "value content", value definitions and
values orientations.
Modern
axiology is able to fix the factor of the diversity of bases and
"platforms" to the classification of values for modern
social theory and social philosophy. The values of the social sphere
are defined in view of the constant exchange of ideas, attitudes and values
of a social, cultural and "subjective" plan. The
"practical" meaning of values is connected with the
justification of the connection of values with the diversity of
forms and elements of the cultural sphere and manifestations of the variety of social
and cultural activity of modern man.
Values correlate with priorities and essence of economic activity,
solving actual issues and problems. Value’s sphere concern to the problem of
the quality of life of people as well as health care, development of science,
education and culture. Values are
connected
with developing effective approaches to
the problem of the correlation of the national culture and universal values
of contemporary culture in the implementation of the principles
of cultural polycentric with equal value of every culture of the world
civilization [2,
p. 44].
The
values of modern society become the most important factor of
socialization. Society constantly reproduces the "need" for value’s "systematization"
of social and cultural ideas. The values of modern society are
turning into the most important factors of social adaptation.
Values become the
most important condition for cultural and information interaction. Values
are specified as indispensable condition for the formation of
socio-cultural identity. The values of modern society appear not
only as "ubiquitous" and "everyday" problems, intentions,
goals and interests of man but also as capable of acting in the context of the
parameter and criterion of direct relation to relatively important methods and
types of social interaction and communication.
Social values
in modern society became an important factor of communication,
influence, dialogue, creativity and operationalization in all social shears and
realms of interaction. Values at the stage of formation of basic spheres
and institutions create conditions, criteria and factors of stability and instability
of society in the form of cultural values and "actual" interconnection.
Contemporary social philosophy specify
transfortmations of values at the level of understanding, implication and
development of social norms, cultural patterns, cultural traditions, cultural
practice, cultural exchange as well as interpretation of value orientations and
value-cultural content. Values became forms,
way, practice and skills of cultural behavior, interaction and learning.
Values have a direct
connection with social dynamics and modernization. Values show
prerequisites for the transformation of cultural life, cultural meaning and
social experience. Values reflect the diversity of meanings and
functional mechanisms in the structure of social connections and relations.
Evaluation of social reality reflects the relativization of cultural values
and social values, the variety of types of social and cultural activity. Society
transforms value’s meanings and value’s consciousness.
The values of modern society are characterized by the relativization
of the value’s content of culture as well as the changeableness of cultural values.
