INFLUENCE OF ANXIETY ON WELL-BEING, ACTIVITY AND MOOD OF PREGNANT WOMEN DURING PREGNANCY

Within the frame of connection with obstetric pathology the states of anxiety in pregnant women are interesting, particularly those ones which reach the level of psycho-pathologic disorders [3]. Occurrence of fear and anxiety states under the effect of person-significant factors causes functional disorders in woman’s organism, that in its turn it leads to disorders in physiological and   mental development of fetus [1].

Objective of research: estimate functional disorders of psycho-emotional state of women during pregnancy within the framework of anxiety.

Examined group and methods of research.

392 Pregnant women were examined in ²² and ²²² trimesters. Individual and psychological features of pregnant women and their psychoemotional state were studied using the complex of psychodiagnostic methods: Personality Questionnaire of Bekhterev University, Spielberger-Hanin scale, WAM (well being, activity and mood) [2, 4, 5, 6]. Variation and statistical processing of results was performed with STATISTICA 6.0 analysis programs.

Results of researches and their discussion.

Based on estimation of WAM test there was determined that in 268 pregnant women (68.37 %) the decrease of activity was stated. In 209 pregnant women (52.91 %) well being index was decreased and in 76 pregnant women (19.36 %) the mood was decreased. Decreased well being combined with decreased activity was determined in 47.96 % of examined women and decrease of all indices was determined in 16.58 %. During estimation of  WAM indices including the state anxiety (SA) level there was determined statistically and reliably (ð < 0.05) lower level of well being, activity and mood of pregnant women having high and medium level of SA comparing to appropriate indices of women with low SA level (Fig. 1).

Fig. 1. Results of the survey methodology by WAM in pregnancy study groups depending on the ÒÀ.

Fig. 2. Survey results by the method WAM pregnant research group

depending on the SA.

Besides according to WAM test the indices were statistically and reliably (ð < 0.05) lower than in pregnant women having high level of trait anxiety (TA) comparing to appropriate indices of pregnant women having medium and lower TA level (Fig. 2).

Conclusion. Results of performed research show the negative influence of increase of anxiety on indices of functional state of pregnant women, in particular, well being, activity and mood. This fact is confirmed by statistically reliable   (ð < 0.05) difference and correlation of TA and SA with well being, activity and mood indices.
