USING BLOGS AT STUDYING

Web-pages, which are consist of personal diary of users are called weblogs or “blogs”. D.Winner (2003) calls such diaries “publication of unedited voice of people”. There are some other technical definitions of weblog as “hierarchy of the text, pictures, multimedia objects and dataordered chronically and viewed using web browser”. [1] For example, V. Qwickdefines the term "blogosphere” as “an intellectual area”, which are used by bloggers.[2]

The terms “blogger” and "blogosphere” derived from the term “blog”. Blogger - is the person who leads the online diary. New learning tools provide educational opportunities using modern hardware and software - laptops, wireless systems and virtual learning environments. Now, in the learning process can also be used online diaries, i.e. blogs. Although they are used not so frequently, but the integration of blogs in the learning process has a potential advantage in comparison with other electronic resources. The very important is the process of constructing knowledge for learners, and internalization of knowledge happens in the social process of using the language in certain period of time. So, constructing knowledge by its nature is discursive, i.e. based on relationships and communication. In the process of getting transformation of knowledge students should have real opportunities for publishing their works, from which teachers have "the opportunity to make conclusions about how students transform and assign the meanings and strategies, utilized within the social experience."[3]Such publication would allow students to apply again to their work, to rethink them and thus enrich their learning experience. Using blogs in this aspect is very useful, itgives students the opportunity to comprehend the material and understand, and the possibility of placing comments in blogs to messages promotes reception of a feedback and a potential support of new ideas. The opportunity to include hyperlinks into the text to other resources will help students to realize the relationship and knowledge, their construction and development. Blog becomes a virtual space for testing new concepts. Hyperlinks in blogs provide readers broader context of specific massage on the Internet, attracting news, images and other information. Besides, in blogs, the information is updated frequently.

In the constructivist pedagogicalera, students must improvetheir knowledge independently and the concept of "content delivery systems" must include the use of technology for creating their own content by students. Thus, blogs give students the opportunity to manage their own learning, publish their own thoughts and demonstrate understanding of the material.

Blogs can be used in the teaching of any discipline. Before you begin actualizing programs of distance learning, the teacher himself must pass an online course. The advantage of this approach is that the teacher gets an idea about the use of remote technology, being in the position of the student. That’s why, before you use it, you should spend time to understand how the blog works and what are the possibilities of this resource.

The teacher can model the blog for their students, but first he must present students with the concept of blogging, with the goals of their creation, to show the examples of good and bad blogs. You should also work out strict rules for your school blog, that will determine the frequency of posting messages, their volume, the number of hyperlinks, necessity to stick to the discussion topic. These rules need to be developed together with the trainees. Educational blogs should be available for a wider audience, i.e. not only classmates.

There are four benefits of blogging for students:

The use of blogs helps students to become experts in the field of studying. The process of blogging can be divided into three stages:"search", "filtering" and "publication". In order to find the information that you can use in your online diary (comment, criticize, refer), bloggers visit a lot of sites on a specific topic.Bloggers must know in the process of working with a huge amount of information concerning the topic, despite the fact that not all of it will be mentioned later in the blog. Then the blogger selects the information that is placed in the diary. Thus, the need for regular work makes continuous process of replenishment students' knowledge on definite topics.

Using Blogs strengthens interest in the learning process. Motivating factor in education is, first, the novelty of technology. Second is that students write about what is important for them. They control their learning process, actively seeking information and receiving comments from other people.

The use of blogs gives trainees the right to participate in social processes, i.e. they are included in life of society. Learners quickly understand the process of blogging, that their messages can be read not only by teachers and classmates. Blogs show performed jobs in progress beyond the educational process and the relationship "teacher-student", giving everybody an opportunity to evaluate and comment works of students. Publication in blogs is a legitimate opportunity to communicate with a real audience.

Using blogs opens up new possibilities for work in classroom and beyond it, because not all students have the opportunity to speak or to be heard due to lack of time in the classroom and the limited volume of training courses with the traditional organization of education. Blogging will allow each student to participate in discussions, with their help, the class moves on their physical boundaries and extends to infinite international audience, which gives the opportunity to get an idea of how the published information perceived by the representatives "outside world".
