Social work is a professional activity which purpose is to help people , social groups who find themselves in difficult situations .

The necessity and demand for social work clearly appeared in a market economy , when there was a rigid social differentiation in society. The social security system supported by social policy of our state , is designed to reduce the severity of the problems in the social sphere , contribute the prevention of social tensions .

Social Policy of the Republic of Kazakhstan , on the strength of laws and governance structure , aims to create conditions for human adaptation to changing life conditions.

In our country , in the state of market economy , the profession of "social worker" has not recognized as the most popular yet, although the need of social workers is demanded in all the structures of governmental and social activities. We must realize that the recognition of social work as a major modern activities will raise the level of society to the desired degree of social protection of the individuals, to follow social rights and talk about the high level of society’s humanization.

State as a subject of social work plays a dominant role in determining the system of laws through all the relationships in the social sphere , adjusting all kinds of processes and social assistance to those in need. At their own expense it provides the most part of expenses for implementation of social programs. In solving social problems also increasing part is taken by non-state public and private structures. A social worker acts as executor of the state and some sort of intermediary - between the state, qualified to serve the defense of its citizens , but this is not always satisfied. It should also help to create the conditions for self-defense of people: economic, legal, psychological.

Nowadays a social worker acts as a manager and as a social worker , social advisor, psychologist, to be short - as practical help to people in difficult social situations.

Social work - a profession for those who have a strong desire to help to improve the lifes of others. Social workers help people overcome difficult life challenges : poverty, discrimination , violence, drug addiction , physical illness , divorce, loss , unemployment, educational problems , disability and mental illness.

The profession of the social worker first of all demands high level of the humanity, the developed intuition, abilities to empathize others grief, and also ability to penetrate into each concrete current situation and, proceeding from circumstances, to be engaged in individual rendering necessary types of the social help.

This explains a very wide range of academic disciplines in preparation of social workers as a professionals.

Since 2008, the training of future social workers began to implement by the Karagandy Economic University of Kazpotrebsoyuz . Implementation of this task is given to the Department of Social Work and Social-Political Sciences (SW and SPS`) . Educational process of training future social workers carried out on modern material and technical base. The faculty of the University offers to the future social work professionals a wide range of academic disciplines , aimed at creating a competent person : law, economic , social, humanitarian, special ( youth social work , social work with families and children , social work with people with disabilities , social work with women , social work in the prison system , social pathologies , etc.).

Where can social worker work for? Today, it is almost all spheres of state and public activity. If you like to serve and represent the interests of society at the state level it is the public service : the social security authorities , assistance, support , security , be those who is called to carry out social policy in society . Social worker finds himself in health, education, human resource management system , military, the prison system , the migration service , senior centers , and in other military corporations.

Why ? All we need protection and support, and where are the social relations, there are also social problems, so, there is a need of their professional solution, therefore, there is a need for the social worker. Social work it not only government institutions, but also private activity, in this case are created all conditions for opening own NGO (non-governmental organization). Their mission - to provide certain services or try to influence on the government or society to improve the socio- economic and political situation in society . They unite citizens on the basis of important for all people (or its parts) tasks, represent and protect interests of a general population and lobby them in state structures. Non-governmental organizations not only cooperate with power institutes in resolving social conflicts, but sometimes replace them and they are quite successfull.

Students of the specialty "Social Work" of KEUK from the very beginning of their student's life are dipped into the atmosphere of participation in all socio-political processes happening in the region and republic. During theoretical and practical preparation they try on various social roles - acting as that who needs support and protection, as those who is able to give feasible help, support or give an advice. Volunteering activity is also actively developing in university. Future social workers are participants of various charitable events ("The road to school", "Present to children pleasure", etc.) assist as volunteers in sport activities for children with disabilities, acting as assistants and senior friends for children - social orphans . There is the one of the best debate clubs in the city where our students from a high tribune already being as a future seniors can loudly declare social problems and offer possible ways of their decision.

A department where training of future social workers headed by Ph.D., Abdakimova M. K. Teaching staff includes 3 doctors of science, 7 candidates of science, masters of sciences. The main mission of department - realization of the pedagogical conditions aimed at the development of creative potential and research abilities of students for the subsequent integration into society.

The Department is actively cooperating with an Employment Office the Karaganda region , headed by Abishev Zhandos Akylserikovich . This management in the territory of our region is engaged in realization of the main directions of social policy; increase of level of social security; realization of a state policy in the field of employment of the population and in the field of rationing and compensation, etc. On the basis of Coordination Management of employment and social programs our department works effectively, and also the contract on co-operative training of specialists has been signed. Within these arrangements practical classes, master classes, platinum lectures are given to the students.

Huge amount of work is carried out by the Office of Protection of Childrens’ Right in Karaganda region , led by Irina Kiseleva Boleslavovna . Cooperation department is multidimensional - that volunteering and business practices , visiting classes , workshops , trainings . For example, November 12, 2013 Irina Boleslavovna read for students lectures about "Social Work" and "Law and Economics " " platinum lecture " on the theme : "Social policy of child protection ." Content of the lecture allowed students to meet with legal and regulatory framework for the protection of children in Kazakhstan and organizational forms of child protection in Karaganda region .

Reading platinum lectures becomes definite norm. To read lectures to the students of platinum specialty "Social Work" invited the leaders heading various social sites and have extensive practical experience.

To overestimate help in cooperative training of students for social work in KEUK given by experts of " Rehabilitation Center of disabled people "Laiykty Omir" in the person of mister Ivkin Alexander Mikhaylovich, is difficult. Ivkin A. M. is the expert of training programs of department, catalogs of elective disciplines. For instance, the deputy director of " Rehabilitation Center of disabled people " Laiykty Omir " Dudchenko Lyubov Alekseevnoy developed the actual elective course which is called "Social Work with Disabled People". On the basis of this organization the set of occupations in distance was carried out. The graduate of department Zhanagulova D. successfully works for this organization. Due to cooperation with " Rehabilitation Center of disabled people " Laiykty Omir " our department established business relations with Euroschool Bitterfel-Volfen in the person of doctor Peter Rabenalt. As a result of cooperation with the foreign partner for students and teachers of department has been read a course of "Foreign Experience of Social Care and Social Work".

Huge work is being done with the Karaganda regional society " German Centre Vidergeburt ." Cooperation with this partner station allows social care conduct workshops , seminars and master classes.

One of the activities of the department is working with SOS Children's Village in Temirtau headed by Valery Dubrovsky . For example, in a joint memorandum on cooperation with a teachers of the department were conducted lectures and workshops on conflict for SOS mothers and aunts from Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan . The joint management of the final thesis and carrying out by trainers of SOS Children's village of Temirtau trainings "Work bases of Oyyn Bus" is unique by iys technique and contents. A large number and other joint creative works is planned by the department.

Long ago we are connected by sincere friendship with the Center of social and psychological and legal aid "VICTORIA". The director of the center Artemyeva Victoria Arngoldovna with the colleagues repeatedly held meetings with our students and teachers, organized trainings and practicians according to the prevention of hit of youth in totalitarian/destructive, pseudo religious associations.

Our students actively are engaged in volunteer activity. With it we are helped by "Hope Ray" in the person of Kravchenko Tatyana Ivanovna. Volunteer activity of students and teachers of department has a wide range of an orientation. It would be desirable to note that students of the specialty "Social Work" have already experience in the organization and carrying out "Goodwill Games" among children and youth with the limited opportunities organized by "Hope Ray".

For cooperation and strengthening of ties development with employers, improvement of forms of the practical-focused training on November 14, 2013 for students of the specialty "Social Work" classes in KSU "Psychoneurological Medico-social Institution No. 1 of the City of Karaganda of the Karaganda Region", KSU "Psychoneurological Medico-social Institution for Children of the Karaganda Region" are given. Future experts of "Social work" were acquainted with standards of social protection of socially vulnerable segments of the population, functions and direct activity of social workers of the organizations.

But the most important result, due to cooperation with these organizations, we form future social workers, and today most our students are successfully employed in various spheres of social protection. So, our students work in city and regional administrations, Management of youth initiatives of the Karaganda region, departments of employment, NGO, in the education organizations. That fact testifies to a demand of our students and also our students of final year find a job social workers in the city organizations while they are still educating in higher education institutions.

Still it would be desirable to tell about student's mobility. And this direction actively develops in training system of future social workers. Mobility is opportunity to see young people chosen the same specialty, as well as you, and opportunity to become stronger in own choice. For future social worker it is important - to be able to live in various social environment, to be sociable, to be able to accept the world in all its variety. Students of our university have opportunity to be trained on an exchange in the best higher education institutions of Kazakhstan, the near and far abroad.

So, training of future social worker is defined by modern social and economic requirements is a high level of theoretical knowledge, these are practical skills, it is the wide range of competences allowing it to assume responsibility to be ready to give help to people, appeared in a difficult life situation.

For those who has a sober mind, big heart and thin sincere social work is an ideal place where it is possible to find himself in life.
