Institutional
and technological mechanisms to improve social work with youth
In the context of
globalization and modernization of the public life of many traditional social
technologies do not work. Time demands of social
innovation, innovative approaches to solving emerging problems.
One such technology is
the work with young people through active formation, management and content of
social information networks, educational resources on the Internet and by means
of game technologies.
Skillful use of
effective technologies of social work can provide a progressive state
development and the selection of the optimal functioning of the public
mechanism, will lead to the prevention of the critical level of development of
dangerous social phenomena (criminalization, unemployment, apathy, lack of
interest in their country and its future, unwillingness to learn, alcoholism
and drug addiction) [5]. Modern information technology can significantly expand
the horizons of recreational, educational and educational work with young
people.
One of their important
tools to ensure an effective system of socialization and self-realization of
young people, the development potential of young people can be a social
Internet projects for young people [4].
Internet audience is
growing at a steady rate of 9-12% per year, indicating that the mature phase of
development of this communication. By age of the Internet
audience can be characterized as follows: children from 12-17 years of age
account for about 10% of the audience, those aged 18-24 - 18%, 25-34 years -
27%, 35-44 years - 22%, 45-54 year - 15%, 55-64 years - 18% [2].
Also, no less important
area of social work with the use of information technology is to determine the
actual directions of force application and manifestations of civil liability,
for example, the organization of the volunteer movement. Also through social
networks can efficiently organize search resources for the implementation of
various social projects (Crowdfunding).
Crowdfunding (national
funding from the English. Сrowdfunding is a collective cooperation of people
(donors) who voluntarily pooling their resources to support non-profit
projects. Fundraising can be used for
different purposes - assistance to victims of natural disasters, the support
from the fans, supporting political campaigns, funding for start-up projects of
small business, the development of open-source software, the creation of
cultural objects, profit from joint ventures and other investments.
So, with the help of
social networking can become a volunteer, participate in a joint project or
publish your own project and to find like-minded people.
Modern social work
should be done using the widest range of information technologies that allow
for communication, monitoring, determine the rating, make payments, analyze and
track changes in the geography of the participants.
Gamification
(Gamification) - a new trend in the development of a variety of social
processes. The basic principle of
Gamification - constant, measurable feedback to the user, providing the
opportunity to dynamic adjustment of user behavior and, as a consequence, the
rapid development of all application functionality and gradual immersion of the
user in the objectives of the project.
Gaming technology can
change and shape the patterns of social behavior, which requires that the games
have educational or educational component, their idea was based on a high
spiritual and cultural principles.
Therefore, computer
games, which undoubtedly are an integral part of modern life, you need to use
to solve cultural, educational, educational tasks. Such a tool could be
the most effective for social work with children and youth audiences. It should be understood
that the use can not only affluent segments of the population, but also to a
wider audience, as mobile phone today is
also an active device used for games and these applications are available for
almost everyone.
Another area of social
work with the use of information technology can become education and personal
development of young people. Today Russians are
actively using online library, training sites, special educational software and
games, video tutorials and lectures, videos, where ordinary citizens share
their achievements in various fields, exchange of experiences, recipes,
secrets.
This trend should be
used by public authorities responsible for social work in order to allow the
maximum number of young people not only to decide in the profession, to get an
education, to improve their skills, to meet modern requirements of the labor market,
but also find themselves in life, and to improve develop continuously.
All of the above leads
to the conclusion of the need for a centralized, controlled, systematic efforts
to improve the methodology and tools of social work with young people. Most appropriately, in
the context of a centralized online resource dedicated to relations between the
state and the youth audience. This resource is to
combine multiple fields of social work: information and
education; the
organization of interaction between the government, non-profit organizations,
volunteers and recipients of social services; identification and
registration in need of assistance; psychological
counseling, personal development; social adaptation of
children's homes and young people in difficult situations; combating antisocial behavior; volunteer movement
healthy lifestyle promotion; research on demography
and youth policy.
Implementation of the
above functions of social work with young people should be, on the one hand,
due to popular and effective methods of interaction between users of modern
technologies - social networking and gaming, specially created for this purpose
and, on the other hand, by off-line work with youth. Such an approach will
interest and attract young people, the most balanced way to reach the widest
possible audience, it does not undermine the existing system of social care for
adolescents and do not encourage excessive enthusiasm for online communication
to the detriment of real life.
Therefore, a powerful
tool for the organization of social work is the simultaneous development of
attractive young off-line programs, such as vacation, trips and excursions on
the territory of Russia.
Tourism provides an
opportunity for young people to join the cultural and historical values,
develop a sense of patriotism, strengthen health and see how people live in
other parts of the country, their manners and customs, increase tolerance to
another faith, culture and beliefs. In addition, develop
the habit of traveling with time becomes a necessity, can significantly broaden
their horizons and make a more conscious choice of profession, successful
self-realization in the society, to take the path of perfection and spiritual
development of the individual. Tourism also includes a
large number of spheres of entrepreneurial activity and creativity of young
people.
Thus, today it is
necessary to intensify the use of modern technology in the organization of
social work with young people. It is not only the key
to improving the effectiveness of such measures, but also a prerequisite for
the viability of social projects.
