Almaty, Kazakhstan
Last
decade international relations are greatly developing. English language is
considered as an intercultural language and many famous scholars’ researches
are argument of its influence the global scientific-educational system.
All scientific and business terminology is based on
English language because of it borrows into many languages in the world.
Now much attention in research of loans
is paid to English and the American lingua-cultural
influence as about 3/4 all borrowings are the share of
anglicisms and ameriñanism lexis.
The definition of the word Anglicism in Oxford
Advanced Learner’s Dictionary: Anglicism
- a word or phrase from the English language that is used in another language.
Modern
vacancies in Kazakhstan and especially a profession in a services sector are
exposed to foreign-language expansion that, naturally, complicates to
understand the contents and functional features of these or those professions.
All names of
professions are given in a foreign language and most of all this use of anglicisms.
Nowadays person who seeks a job could
not understand the names and meanings of vacancies which are presented in many advertizing
newspapers and the Internet resources on employment, for example the following
professions: a hand-maker, an
image-maker, a merchandiser, a provider, a florist, a dealer, a hostess, a
realtor.
We
made some analysis of usage of Anglicism in the names of professions in the
newspapers like "Vacancy", "Rabota", "Srochno trebuetsia",
"Birzha truda", "Predlagaem rabotu" and other internet
resources.
A
lot of interesting jobs with unknown names are suggested to citizens of Almaty
city in the vacant newspapers. For example, a
merchandiser, a copywriter, a cleaner, etc.
Merchandiser – specialist, who makes
a good supply of goods in the trade. His/her main duties are to improve the
image of the company, to track the position of the products on the shelves in
convenient order, to control goods do not end in the shelves of the store. As
well as he or she supplies the store with advertisements, organizes the awards
on behalf of the firm.
In Kazakhstan we see the new tendency when many old professions have taken a
new name and become full recepïent
language skills.
The nomination of the oldest profession has renamed to anglicisms and it has a large field in the labor market of Kazakhstan. Many earlier existing professions were known before with their simple names: illustrator-artist
is a designer today; the manager on duty now is a reception or the receptionist; the new position merchandiser is last commodity.
The word "manager" agrees to
English dictionaries, is translated as "the managing director, the
manager" and owing to certain reasons: prestigious, wide popularity, an
order of the day the profession and a position of the manager became
successfully demanded that, undoubtedly, served emergence of a number of
adjacent specialties and functions.
Today in the
Kazakhstan labor market there is a wide range of managers of the different
directions:
·
Top-manager- the head of company;
·
Office-manager – secretary;
·
Sales-manager – seller;
·
Personnel-manager – the personnel officer;
·
Brand-manager – specialist of any type of service or trade mark;
·
Account-manager – specialist who works with customers;
·
PR-manager – specialist who works with society;
·
IT-manager – specialist of computer sphere.
It is known that
a language is a category of time. Borrowed words are used in
all service areas and also in the press, radio and television, written and spoken language, sports,
culture and is reflected in other areas.
In
conclusion, in the last of XX century the technical and informative evolution
made good opportunities to international informative exchange and great usage of
international terminology.
Loan words, anglicisms which are borrowed
from foreign languages have great influence on development of new professions in
the labor market of Kazakhstan.
Having considered the situation today, we
can conclude that on the one hand, numerous Anglicisms and Americanisms,
penetrating into our speech – it is a natural phenomenon, reflecting
intensified in the last decade, economic, political, cultural, social relations
and relations of our country with other countries.
But on the other hand,
in the pursuit of all foreign, in an effort to copy Western models, we are
increasingly losing the identity, including language. But the language reflects
the lifestyle and way of thinking.
The process of borrowings of foreign-language words and international terms in
names of modern professions in Kazakhstan is considered
as the absence of the corresponding concept and the modern name
in information base of language receptor that
is the main reason for use of foreign-language terms.
The second reason it is
the commitment of the younger generation to foreign lexicon,
in particular English, their aspiration to fashionable, more modern word of
foreign-language sounding.
