English language in the economic university
English means much in my life. I think that it means much not only for
me. Many people in our country are interested in Eglish.They learn and love it
and they think the saim way as I do.
In the last decades
foreign languages are the object of intent attention and study of not only
scientists but also simple people. An increasing role that is played by foreign
languages is thus marked, in realization of influence on consciousness and
activity of wide layers of population. It is also necessary to take into
account that knowledge of foreign languages is very meaningful in the field of
the personal and professional communication of man, that allows to be to him on
a step ahead of other.
A foreign language
executes an enormous role in forming of personality and increase of education,
in fact by means of him it is possible to get direct access to the spiritual
wealth of other country, to get possibility of direct communication with the
representatives of other people. The before not surprising, that lately in our
country substantially interest grew in foreign languages, mainly - to the English.
A role exactly of
English strongly grew for the last halves a century, as an index of success and
formed of man, that directly entails his more intensive and deep teaching in
most educational establishments of our country and that not insignificantly,
majority from them Institutions of higher learning. Like international
cooperation, allows to show out Ukrainian business on a qualitatively new
level, promoting on the whole authority of Ukraine at the international market,
that will entail the improvement of economic situation.
Calling to practice
of teaching of foreign languages in different institutions of higher learning
of Ukraine, it is possible to find out the great choice of languages and
directions, accessible for a study. Already in the process of educating
students can choose a few languages (for example English, German) in parallel.
Most institutions
of higher learning give possibility to the students to pass practice abroad(it
can be residence in family, educating in schools or colleges, and on occasion
and work). All of it assists involving of students in world community, more
wide choice of type of activity in the future,
search by the young specialist of work and hard competition in the labor
market.
Contradiction
between the requirements produced, at the level of world standards to the
graduating student of institution of higher learning, and by the real language
preparation in greater part of non-language institutions of higher learning,
namely economic institutions of higher learning of Ukraine, stipulate the
search of the most effective ways of overcoming of these contradictions,
development of new strategy of language preparation on the postgraduate stage
of study of language (graduate school).
Teaching of
business English the students of economic specialist can become the major means
of forming of not only necessary foreign but also modern social competence of
students, and also actively to assist is professional (to the ascent to the
tops professionalism are concordances of maintenance of business English with
maintenance of educational courses of preparation of students of economic
specialist;
At terms:
are realizations by the
teacher of institution of higher learning of professional meaningfulness of
forming of social competence of students;
it is realization of computer approach
in teaching of foreign language the students of economic specialist;
are concordances of
maintenance of business English with maintenance of educational courses of
preparation of students of economic specialist;
- application in teaching of
business English of effective educational technologies.
Calling to the results of questioning conducted in
one of institutions of higher learning of Ukraine, among the students of
non-language specialist, on purpose to set, what reasons move by them in the
study of foreign language. 200 persons were polled in all, the method of
elemental selection was used. Answers
were distributed as follows:
- I "Teach, only because
it is needed on an on-line tutorial" - 60%
- "That did not
deduct" - 14%
- I "Want to settle down
on good job, build a successful career" - 10%
- to "travel abroad, to
intermingle with foreigners" - 10%
- I "Teach, because
interestingly" - 6%
Certainly, the
method of the verbal questioning does not apply on the all-embracing scope of
situation and opening of the hidden subjective meaning, but some conclusions
certainly can be done: repressing part of students at the study of foreign
language in institution of higher learning teach him without the special
desire. Id est it is possible to say that a process of studies for them is
either the usual functioning or forced behavior. Small part of students
specified on reason of self-affirmation (to "build a successful
career") and the affiliation motive (to "travel",
"intermingle with foreigners"). And here only 6% students are studied
foreign language, because it likes them.
A main conclusion
that students are move external reasons mainly serves as, a desire is here
absent. It presents some contradiction, as prestige of foreign language
proficiency and his importance in public life grew and, it would seem, there
must be more positive motivation. In addition, absolutely clear, that the
enterprise of the actions sent to the call in the students of internal
motivation is required. Id est it is necessary to create such terms at that
students have the personal interest and requirement in the study of foreign
language. A requirement in a study must correspond to such varieties of
internal motivation, as communicative (direct communication in language), and
instrumental (positive attitude toward a language) and instrumental(positive
attitude toward the different types of work).
All above-stated
kinds and subspecies of motivation are the main bodies of motive of man in the
study of foreign language. However it should be remembered that if motivation
is too strong, the level of activity and tension increases, what efficiency of
work gets worse because of. At that rate a high level causes not
"desires" bad emotional reactions.
Need to find the middle ground, with high level of knowledge interact to
produce positive emotsiyot of learning a foreign language.
Readiness of students of
economic specialist to forming of social competence is not supported from the
side of teachers of foreign language and maintenance of the traditional program
of study of English. For overcoming of this difficulty needed integration of
teachers of English in the process of the vocational training of future
specialists and transformation of course of English in the specialized program
of business English.
For the effective
forming of social competence of students of economic specialist during the
study of foreign language it is necessary to conduct self-determination of
teacher of English on next directions:
-it is understanding and
acceptance of aims of professional activity of future specialist as aims of
educational object;
-it is integration of activity
of teacher of foreign language in maintenance of professional preparation of
future specialist;
-it is creative transformation
of educational object in accordance with the individual educational queries of
students.
Planning of
authorial course of the business English oriented to forming of social
competence of students of economic specialist supposes development of the
program on English within the framework approach, being an integrative course,
including the aspects of the different disciplines sent to forming of social
competence of students.
Effectiveness of
forming of social competence of students of economic specialist can be watched
on next grounds:
-it is an external estimation
of teacher of results to activity of students;
-it is a self-appraisal of
students.
The external
estimation of teacher of results to activity of students includes next indexes:
it is a level of trained of
students on all educational disciplines;
are personality quality of
students, showing up in the process of mastering programs of business English;
-it is a level of social
activity of students in the period of educating. The self-appraisal of students
is watched on next indexes:
-it is importance acquired
socially meaningful abilities;
-it is interest in the types
of activity, forming- these abilities(pedagogical technologies);
-it is a degree of possession
socially by meaningful abilities.
