EXTREME AND
MODERN NATURE OF ISLAM
From the old
times and now also Islam as a very many-sided and difficult notion is always a
controversy.
Basing on the
Quran concepts it can be concluded that Islam, which is simple, available and
having undeveloped hierarchy structure, lets the Muslim develop and exist
successfully nowadays. It’s necessary to note traditional ingressiveness in the
process of studying, the absence of rigid judgments about Islam being the only
and absolute truth.
But,
unfortunately, nowadays Islam is often associated with extremism and terrorism
in the society. Moreover, the radical essence of Islam and aggressive attitude
to all non-Islamic became the biggest myth among people. The reason of this
stereotype is that Islam became an instrument for achieving the goals of some politicians
and political groups, who didn’t have anything in common with Islam.
Many criminal
positions pseudoislamic extremists base on the Hadith of the Prophet Muhammad.
Hadiths, who are directed to moral-ethic side of a person and society, have the
fundamental meaning. The problem of jihad is the essence of the moral-ethic
basis of Islam. Reports of the acts of terrorism are often followed by the
jihad notion, which expresses the aggressive nature of Islam. However, large
inner jihad is as important as the small one that is expressed with some fights
for the sake of religion. This truth is reflected in the hadith, where it’s
said that the one who fights with his egoistic goals on the way to Allah is the
jihad. Large jihad is considered to be
the person inner fighting against his ego, which has the strategic meaning for
the self-developing process.
It is natural
that the time of war jihad has fallen into oblivion. The reason to think so is
that Muhammad told once: “We are going from the small jihad to the large one”.
One of the
Quran verses tells us about the taboo on killing a person. Almighty said: “If
you kill a person not for the murder, it’s like you kill all people; if you
save a person, it’s like you save all people”. (Surah “Al-mayda”) [1]
When the
cases of hijacking started happening more often Muslim scientists declared
hijacking forbidden in Islam and judged it very strictly.
In the Saudi
town Taif the 32nd council meeting of prominent scientists of Saudi
Arabia was gathered in 1988, which was dedicated to this problem.
The decision
that was made: the one who commits such a crime deserves the death penalty.
Those who think acts of terrorism and murders of innocent to be jihad are
called dzhahyl, because all this is not related to jihad on the way to Allah.
Jihad, which
is relevant nowadays, is “jihad by culture”. With its help the faith should be
planted in the world (iman), and grains of knowledge and wisdom in human’s
mind.
The absence
of the deep understanding of the Quran and Sunnah basics contributes the
development of the destructive outlook. The Quran and Hadith analysis lets us
form the real and true essence of Islam and its role nowadays.
So, the
decision of public and state institutions of world countries, which admitted
the correlate with extremism and terrorism, is not justified. For instance, due
to all expert arguments The European Commission made a decision prohibiting
usage of the notions “Islamic extremism” and “jihad”. Also, Russia prohibited
calling criminals “Islamic extremists” at the state level. The right name is
bandit, just bandit, because it doesn’t have the religious content. Thus, the
conception that Islamic studies and destructive directions of Islam are
incompatible, get more and more confirmations. Not only researchers, but state
structure representatives make the conclusion that Islam and extremism have
absolutely different nature.
