The problems of volunteering and charity as culture-historical tradition
of social-pedagogical activities
Theory and
practice of social pedagogic connected with culture-historical, ethnographic
traditions and nation features. It depends on social-economical national
development, it based on religious and moral-ethic views about people and human
values.
Speaking of social
pedagogy as a practice area, it is necessary to provide a clear demarcation between
official social pedagogic as professional activity and real social pedagogical
work, consists of work with people, who need in helps.
Until quite recently, there was not
social pedagogic in our country as profession, which requires specialist
training, who can render knowledgeable assistance to people, who need in
social, pedagogical and moral-psychological help. Real activity on render assistance
to lack-all in our country has deep historical roots. It has to be said in
fairness, throughout the development of the human civilization, every society faced
a problem in relation to people, who
could not support life themselves. There are children, old people, illness
people and etc. The relationto such people in different societies and countries
at different stages of their development was different - from the physical
destruction of disabled and weak peopleto fully integrate them into society. It
depended on axiological positions of this society.
Charity is the
universal human value, one of the most important attribute of civil society.
Charity let service its interests direct to the society, without mediation of
state. Charity provides redistribution of income from more rich to the poorest
people in a short way and short time. Charity is more and more becomes an
instrument, with the help of society satisfy its main social, human needs.
Activity of charity can be in the following aims:
· Social support and protect people, including improvement of financial
situations needy social help to unemployment people, disable and others, who in
the force of their physical or intellectual qualities, and other circumstances
they are not able to realize their rights and law interests themselves.
· To prepare people to overcome natural disaster, ecological, industrial
or another catastrophe, accident.
· To help suffer people in the result of natural disaster, ecological,
industrial and other catastrophe, social, national, religious conflicts, victims
of repression, refugees and force immigrants.
· To promote strengthening peace friendship and agreement between nations,
prevent social, national and religious conflicts.
· To promote to protect of motherhood, childhood and paternity.
· To promote activity in the education, science, culture, art, study,
spiritual development of person.
· To promote in healthy life style of people, and propaganda of healthy
life style; improvement of moral-psychological condition of people;
· To promote activity of physical training and in sport;
· To guard of environmental protection and animal protection;
· To guard and preserve buildings, objects and territories which have
historical, cultural and natural guard meaning and places of burial.
Religious
subject of voluntary unpaid labour was formed a very long time in Kazakhstan is
associated mostly with Islam and Christianity. Religious principles are based
on the altruism of the most socially responsible members of society. Altruism
is a person's ability to put the welfare of others above our own. O. Kont
considered development of an altruistic consciousness "is a sign of a civilized
society, committed to the positive values."
Volunteering
as a social phenomenon is inextricably linked with the history of the
development of society; it has its own historical background and civilizational
development experience. History of the volunteer movement it is difficult to
trace, as previously nobody recorded such actions. But in the world history of
mankind has there been such a society, which would have been alien to the idea
of voluntary and disinterested assistance. "Volunteering as an idea of
social service is almost as old as the concept of society. In society there
were always people for whom the way of self-realization, self-improvement, connection
and communication with other people was work for the benefit of the community
in which this person was born and/or live." It should be noted that
religion has always been a powerful catalyst to engage in volunteer work,
educating people in an altruistic consciousness, thus motivated to engage in
volunteering.
International
practice recognized that volunteer activities are most effectively implemented
in an organized form in the nonprofit sector through permanent volunteers. This
form of operation of volunteerism is a common practice for countries in Western
Europe and the USA but relatively new phenomenon for Kazakhstan and Russia.
