Nonmaterial workers motivation in a crisis economy conditions

 

 

         The factor of workers motivation became very important in a crisis economy and instability conditions. It plays a leading part in providing of the effective workers activity in any sphere of  business.

        

         Motivation owns powerful positive potential, enables to use all types of financial resources effectively and economically, and as a result provides the greatest efficiency of labor. To achieve it, managers must be able to apply the followings measures:

         - to cause workers trust;

         - to influence worker’s opinion, not causing offense or dissatisfaction for him;

         - to apply the methods of financial and nonmaterial motivation individually and dosed.

        

         Today, taking into account the factors of economic crisis, it follows to give the advantage to nonmaterial motivation. It includes privileges, acknowledgment of worker’s contribution in success of common business, involving workers in decision-making process and social defence of employees. Effective motivation promotes the productivity  of labor and workers start working better. Organizations, where workers work better, show a higher capacity for a survival in the crisis conditions.

         There is a lot of ways, in which workers should be motivated without the investment of money. The most popular are:

        

         1. Interesting work. If workers execute some difficult tasks successfully, they should be encouraged, giving them some additional powers, passing to them some of leader’s duties. Such method of nonmaterial stimulation will help workers to realize themselves and to develop their professional skills.

         2. Public acknowledgment is a public demonstration of gratitude for worker’s effort.

        

         3. Spare time is a possibility to give to a worker spare time for rest from work. After he returns from vacation, the efficiency of his labor will grow up very considerably.

        

         4. Feed back. All workers should know, how their work is valued. Such information, as a rule, compels workers to work better – in order to confirm the high status, or in order to attain it.

        

         5. Involvement of workers into decision-making process, especially when it concerns workers directly. It shows workers, that their point of view is respected, and they begin to think creatively in the process of decision-making.

        

         6. Flexibility. Workers of any firm value possibility of flexible schedule of work very high. It enables workers to select the schedule of working hours according to the maximal labor efficiency.

        

         Summing up, it’s necessary to state, that all mentioned above ways of worker’s motivation don’t need money providing, and the effect from their introduction is great, that is especially urgent in a crisis economy conditions.
