Formation and development of event tourism in the Republic of Kazakhstan
Nowadays the development of tourist branch in
the Republic of Kazakhstan has priority value that is confirmed by its entry
into number of seven clusters defining long-term specialization of national
economy in non-oil branches.
One of the most dynamically developing directions in development of tourism
is event tourism. Event tourism is understood as the tourist activity connected
with various significant public events, and as by the unusual natural
occurrences attracting with the uniqueness.
According to the purposes of visiting a country for temporary
stay event tourism is subdivided into visits of exhibitions and fairs,
festivals of sporting events, as well as for the purpose of business tourism.
A number of the event
actions promoting positioning of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the world market
of tourist services includes:
- The summit of OSCE which has taken
place on 1st of December, 2010 in the city of Astana;
- Asia Dauysy - the musical international
festival held in Almaty;
- International film festival
"Eurasia";
-
the 7th winter Asian games, taken place in the cities of Astana and
Almaty in January - February, 2011.
- The World Ice Hockey Championship with a
ball 2012 - during the period from January 29 to February 5, 2012.
In our opinion, at the moment external
positive image of RK hasn't created yet. Only CIS countries have positive
information about our sovereign state, and unlike them, many other countries have
never heard about Kazakhstan.
For
development of event tourism in Kazakhstan it is necessary to carry out the
following measures:
1) to create the bureau for a common
information space and advance of tourist events;
2) to develop a
uniform calendar of large event actions;
3) to introduce
the simplified visa regime during conducting events of national scale.
It is necessary to develop the whole
complex of actions for realization of these purposes. First of all, Kazakhstan
has to possess so-called "personal card" which includes three basic
elements: slogan, symbol and events. The symbol which could become, for
example, Bayterek is capable to consolidate the main idea of image. The main
objective in choosing a symbol is its compliance to the slogan and simultaneous
revealing of wide capacity of our country.
The following event actions become the
next events promoting recognition of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the world:
1. The 28th Winter Universiad in 2017 in Almaty.
2. The 17th boxing World Cup in Almaty.
3. Historical
event – carrying out “EXPO – 2017” exhibition in Kazakhstan.
Thus, the country is expecting
many important events which can promote development, and also inflow of foreign
tourists. For this purpose it is necessary to create a full set of high-quality
services in the sphere of placement, transport, catering and carrying out
business and sporting events.
In the
conclusion, it should be noted that when positioning the native tourist product
for ensuring the greatest inflow of foreign tourists, Kazakhstan is to embody
national traditions, culture, history, large virgin natural territories and all
innovations cast by scientific and technical progress in a whole. Complexity is that Kazakhstan shouldn't
position the tourist product as someone's analog, our country has to set
absolutely new vector of the tourist opportunities.
