CULTURE OF SPEECH BEHAVIOR IN THE PROFESSIONAL SPHERE

 

The culture of speech - part of the general culture of the person.Às the person speaks and writes it is possible to judge level of its inner development, its internal culture.Possession of the person of the standard of speech is not only to show high level of intellectual and inner development, but also peculiar indicators of professional suitability for people of the most various professions: diplomats, lawyers, politicians, teachers of schools and higher education institutions, employees of radio and television, journalists, managers and so on. The culture of speech it is important to own everybody by whom the nature of the activity is connected with people, organize and directs their work, learns, brings up, conducts business negotiations, refuse to people various services.

The culture of speech assumes observance of norms of the literary language which is perceived its carrier, speaking or writing, quality of "ideal", a sample.The norm is the main regulator of speech behavior of people.But this insufficient the regulator because one observance of instructions of norm doesn't suffice in order that oral and written language appeared quite good, that is satisfied all requirements of communication.Ethical standards of communication provide observance of speech etiquette. The speech etiquette represents system of means and ways of expression of the relations communicating with each other.The speech etiquette includes speech formulas of a greeting, a request, questions, thanks, congratulations, a choice of the full and reduced name, an address formula and so on.

Researchers allocate some forms of messages:

1)     evasive the phrases reflecting subjectivity: "I think", "I assume" , etc.

2)     indecision, linguistic "stutter": "can you give à minute of your attention? ", etc.

3)     polite forms "sorry"... ", excuse", etc.

4)     intensive words: "perfectly", "remarkably", "very much", etc.

Professional communication represents speech interaction of the expert with other experts and clients of the organization during implementation of professional activity.

The culture of professional activity in many respects defines its efficiency, and as reputation of the organization as a whole and the certain expert.

The culture of communication makes important part of professional culture for such professions, as à teacher, à journalist,à manager, à lawyer.

The professional culture includes possession of special skills of professional activity, culture of behavior, emotional culture, the general standard of speech and culture of professional communication.

The culture of the professional speech includes:

-         Possession terminology of this specialty;

-          Ability to build performance on a professional subject;

-          Ability to organize professional dialogue to operate it;

-          Ability to communicate nonspecialists concerning professional activity.

         For success in professional activity the modern expert needs to own perfection skills of the standard of speech, to possess linguistic, communicative and behavioural competence of professional communication,professional activity.

The following qualities are for this purpose necessary:

- Knowledge of norms of the literary language;

- Possession of professional terminology;

- Possession of style of the professional speech;

-  Ability to consider social and individual traits of the identity of the interlocutor;

-  Ability to create the favorable atmosphere for communication;

- Ability to direct dialogue compliance with the purposes of professional activity;

- Knowledge of etiquette and accurate performance.

For an example we will take professional activity of the lawyer.In particular, it will be a question of interrogation, judicial review.These kinds of activity of lawyers proceed in especially procedural mode observance of the certain, strictly outlined forms of communication, such, for example, as: reception of statements of citizens; interrogation during preliminary investigation; interrogation court by consideration of criminal cases; judicial debate, etc.Lawyers constantly should resort to various forms, to estimate features of speech behavior of other persons.

         Features of speech behavior of the lawyer are connected with his education, social status.The speech of the lawyer has to be competent, clear, available to any category of citizens, consecutive, convincing.During professional activity the lawyer needs to improve constantly skills of speech behavior, to raise culture of communication.

         The tactfulness has to be shown in various forms of business communication:

-Daily office communication (reception of visitors, participation in meetings, meetings, etc.);

- Specific forms of office communication (the head and subordinates, between colleagues);

- Not specific forms of communication (phone, business correspondence, performance on radio, television, etc.).

Therefore improving the speech - a problem of each of us.For this purpose it is necessary to watch the speech not to make mistakes a pronunciation, in the use of forms of words, in creation of offers.It is necessary to enrich constantly the lexicon, to learn to feel the interlocutor, to be able to be at loss for words most suitable for everyone case and a design.Influence of language on society strengthens together with development of the society is an influence increases in process of development of production, equipment, science, culture and the state.Society influences language, but language too influences society, thus participating in various areas of life and activity of people, to be able correctly and competently it is necessary to speak for each person, irrespective of his personal progress, a kind of activity and the public sphere of life.
