Application of
Intensive Didactic Systems in Training of Dentist Internship Doctors
Summary
The
concept of modern education considers the computerization of the educational
process as one of the main directions of its intensification. Starting the
development of teaching methods with the application of computer technologies,
a teacher should have not only a deep knowledge of his subject, but he should
also know the theory and techniques of intensive training systems. Moreover, he
should be familiar with trends in the development of computer technologies
means and their potential application in the educational process.

E-learning
program is a central element of the training system. It is included into the means
of education, providing the solution to didactic problems, mainly in the
initial and final stages of training.
The
objective of this paper is to describe the features of the development of an
intensive didactic system and automated training tools.
The current state of information resources of the society, growing
speed of their replenishment and updating require the review of both separate
methodological positions of didactics and technological solutions ensuring the
organization of educational process in the conditions of a multiple increase of
the scope of educational information and the limited budget of time without
physical and mental overload of students and teachers (N. D. Nikandrov). [1]
Intensive training is a self-organizing synergetic system, a
module of a didactic system functioning in the mode of development with
acceleration. [2, 3, 4]
E-learning
programs as a means of training can be used in the following main types of
activities:
practical trainings;
independent
classwork of internship doctors and trainee doctors;
seminars;
and
business
games.
E-learning
programs can be teaching, training, and supervising. [6]
Development of an
intensive didactic system requires that certain psychological and pedagogical
requirements are satisfied.
First, an e-learning
program should be adaptive to internship doctors and trainee doctors, as it
should reflect the different level of experience. It should be focused on a
certain level of learner's abilities. Thus, when an internship doctor begins
working at the department he is tested to define the level of his knowledge,
and this is done by means of the computer test control. Adaptivity of the
e-learning program is implemented during the development of the dialog script
by diagnosing possible errors, giving additional tasks to assist the student,
i.e by modeling the situation of individual training according to the scheme:
an internship doctor – a teacher.
Second, the e-learning
program should form such activities that include specific system of knowledge
and provide the possibility of their usage.
The leading role in
the development of the e-learning program belongs to the teacher. He should
determine a deductive reasonability of establishing an electronic didactic
programme, form an aprior intense didactic system and determine the place of
the e-learning program therein. Therefore, the teacher's training to create the
e-learning program should include: the study of theoretical foundations of
intensive learning and didactic opportunities of the e-learning system. The
following issues become important:
·
the choice of a reasonable structure of
the e-learning program and means of disclosure;
·
the extent of usage of deductive
e-learning program opportunities in the processing of learner's responses;
·
the degree of adaptation of the
e-learning program to the initial level of learner's competence; and
·
considering of regularities of the
cognitive activity of the learner.
The
accelerating rate of growth of information resources, scientific and technical
and technological progress of the society lead to the fact that the general
intensification has now become an objective reality. [5, 6, 7]
One of the
examples of intensification of the didactic system is the usage of educational
films.
Usage of educational
films and thematic passages increases the effectiveness of training. The visual
channel is the main channel of perception of the information by a human. Seeing
once is better than hearing twice. Unfortunately, this fact is often overlooked
in training. Educational films may be used in the usual course of the training,
and they will improve its effectiveness. Also they may be used as an
independent method of training and development.
A well shot educational
film is both a fascinating and instructive show. However, it is not only the
film itself that is important; the organization of the learning process on the
basis of the educational film is of great importance as well. And of great
importance here are those training materials that are attached to the film.
They can be divided into two groups: materials used by the teacher, and
materials given to the learner.
Materials for the
learner include basic theoretical messages of the film, as well as practical and
test assignments. After watching the film (individually or in group), studying
materials and doing practical assignments, testing which allows to evaluate the
level of uptake of film's content is performed.
Computer environment gives
the additional advantages allowing reviewing film’s scenes, doing assignments
and passing testing. It automates the process of learning, facilitates and
accelerates the assessment of learning results.
Thus, the educational
film is not just a fascinating and informative spectacle, but also a special
technology of specialist's development. Education on the basis of the
educational film takes only two or three hours (including the performance of
assignments after watching the film and passing final testing) and requires
much less energy. It is not to say that educational films may completely
replace trainings or seminars. In the case of consideration of the details of
clinical cases, only a well thought out and structured training may help. However,
when it is a case of basic knowledge and skills in a particular area,
educational films may be much more attractive in terms of fast and visual
acquisition of knowledge. Watching the film collectively and discussing it
afterwards is a kind of a corporate event developing creative and medical
judgment of a specialist.
Conclusions:
1. The
e-learning program helps to systematize knowledge level of internship doctors
and trainee doctors, defines the degree of acquisition of the material be means
of the control testing, provides visibility at the salvation of practical
assignments.
2. The
e-learning program in the form of the educational film promotes fair
presentation and better acquisition of practical manual skills while studying
new medical manoeuvres.
