Microbial contamination of air houses for rearing stock.
The main purpose of the area of
herd repair is to prepare a healthy rearing stock of high productiveness for
partial or complete replacement of the adult industrial and parent stock.
Depending on the configuration area specified in the process schedule, poultry operation is carried out in the
following order: to fill the parent stock it will be up to 22 weeks, for
industrial one it will durate for 17 weeks.
Throughout the
period of our research there was a two-time turnover in poultry houses. Growing
of birds at the first process cycle lasted for 19 weeks, in the second one it
lasted for 17 weeks. The first entry of the day-old birds into the prepared
poultry number 7 was carried out after the prophylactic break (21 days) in
early November, and the second one was caried out in late April. One of the
objectives of our research was to study in these areas the growth of number of
microorganisms in the air seasonably and to clarify the influence of the level
of microbial contamination of poultry houses on the body of birds.
The autumn research
period coincided with the time of cultivation of the poultry from 1 to 60,
winter period from 60 to 119, spring period from 1 to 90, the summer one from
90 to 154 of days' age. Maximum permitted level of microbial background in autumn
and spring time is 60-150 thousand KOE/m3, in winter and summer time it is 180
thousand KOE/m3. Results of the study of bacterial contamination and
preservation of birds in the areas for rearing of rearing stock are shown in
Table 1.

Seasonable analysis
of the microbial contamination of the poultry houses No 7 air gives you the
opportunity to assess the sanitary condition of the premises. Thus, the largest
airborne microbial background was observed in the winter (in the house number 7
it was 211,2 ± 1,7 thousand KOE/m3), and the lowest one was in autumn (in the
house number 7 it was 148,5 ± 1,5 thousand KOE/m3) periods. Indicators of
microbial contamination in the spring season of the year were higher than the
maximum permissible level, on the average 1,2 times. Winter evidence exceeded
MPC, on the average, 1,4 and in summer
in 1,1 times.
Carrying out of
preventive maintenance interval reflected on the low number of qualitative
composition of the microflora in the air of poultry houses No 7 in autumn. Till
the winter season , the number of microflora increased in 1.4 times .
Transition of birds in late February to the area for the maintenance of adult
birds and organization of the preventive recreation facilities in March will
not only keep the growth of microbial contamination in spring, but also reduce
it in 1.2 times.
The safety of
livestock in poultry houses for keeping of rearing stock from autumn-winter
time 96-99 %, and in the spring-summer period 93-94 %.
To identify of the dynamics of
recovery of bacteria in spring time and determination of the extent of its
impact on the status of rearing stock was carried out to study the level of
microbial contamination of the air and the preservation of birds in one week.
Strength of the bacteria was determined before and after the filling the
paultry houses by the birds. The room temperature during this period was on
average 32-33° C. The obtained results are shown in Table 2 .

The results have
shown that the number of bacteria in air for 7 days in areas of chicks have
increased on average in 5 times . Studies of health of birds in this period
showed that the number of culled chickens by the end of the week reached an
average of 2.2% of the total population.
Thus, the increase
of the degree of air pollution by microorganisms led to the culling of rearing
birds.
