Abstract: the main areas of cooperation between Ukraine and Norway are considered. The structure of investments is also given.

Key words: strategic partnership, cooperation, development of trade and economic relations.

During its independence, Ukraine was able to establish diplomatic relations not only with the CIS countries, but also with many European countries. One of the great examples is the trade and economic cooperation with Norway, the advanced country of Europe.

Cooperation with the advanced countries of Europe is one of the key aspects of the prosperity and development of Ukraine. As of 01.10.2014, Norway invested 6.7 million US dollars in the economy of Ukraine. In the structure of investments from Norway to the economy of Ukraine such areas a scientific and technical activity - 40.4%, industry - 32% -, transport - 20.4%, manufacturing industry - 18.6%, retail trade - 9.4%, occupy the largest share.

1)    On March 22, 2017, the Verkhovna Rada ratified the Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of the Kingdom of Norway on the technical and financial partnership, which was signed on October 18, 2016 in Oslo. This Agreement makes it possible to create a condition for attracting financial and technical assistance from the Government of Norway, as well as determine the types and forms of providing this assistance, the mechanism for agreeing technical assistance projects, benefits, privileges and immunities.

2)    2) Within the framework of cooperation between Ukraine and Norway, it can be noted that on February 10, 2017, at the meeting of the Norwegian Ambassador of Ukraine Vyacheslav Yatsenyuk, with the Minister of Rural Industry of Norway, Jon Georg Dahl, at which the importance of realizing significant reserves of Ukrainian-Norwegian cooperation in the agro-industrial sector was noted.  Dahle also noted that the Norwegian market is characterized by high quality requirements, but there are promising opportunities for increasing the export of Ukrainian products. Particularly promising in this context is the grain market, where more than fifty percent of Norway's needs are met from imports.

3)    Medical support and assistance in the treatment and rehabilitation of wounded Ukrainian servicemen, as well as obtaining modern medical equipment by Ukrainian hospitals, is one with particularly powerful manifestations of practical support from Norway.

4)    The manifestation of cooperation has also affected the increase in number of citizens of both states, who on regular basis, make trips to both sides. The issue of the soonest restoration of flights between the two countries is being considered now.
