New IT technologies in the process of reforming the
educational system
The world
has changed a lot, especially in the last century. Science has advanced in the
knowledge of nature, appeared and developed industry with a large number of
highly specialized industries, which required the widest cooperation on a
global scale. This process is rapidly growing and will continue to grow even
faster, because it is based on the objective laws of development of human
civilization. Society suddenly needed millions of professionals in very narrow
fields of science and technology and, at the same time, millions of managers
capable of managing the economy in these difficult conditions. But it must also
provide continuous training of those
millions.
Learning
content in the new information age.
New Era has
put forward new requirements for the content of the educational process. Great
importance acquired computer literacy, without which a person is difficult to
adapt to modern reality and become a
successful member of society. In the structure of the content of
computer literacy include:
- Knowledge
of the basic concepts of computer science and computer engineering;
- Knowledge
of basic design and functionality of computer equipment;
- Knowledge
of modern operating systems and ownership of their basic commands;
- Knowledge
of modern software and operating shells of general-purpose and ownership of
their main functions;
- Possession
of text editors;
- Idea of
programming and its capabilities;
- Experience
with applications utilitarian purpose.
This list of
requirements is not exhaustive and it is constantly updated.
For
centuries, the main source of knowledge for the students and the teacher had a
book as authoritative knowledge holders. Now the situation has radically
changed. Book increasingly gives way to place a computer that through local and
global networks associated with multiple
databases and these databases, which store
much more data than the classic textbook, providing ever-increasing influence
on the formation of the content of the educational process. Information
networks and databases make available unique information that previously was
available only in specialized libraries and archives. This opens new
perspectives for the development of creative activity of students.
Another
competitor of modern textbooks is electronic books and manuals, which, thanks
to the rapid improvement of portable technical devices already in a number of
educational institutions have replaced paper book. Electronic textbook is a set
of training, supervising, modeling and other programs to be placed on
electronic media, which reflect the main content of the discipline. Electronic
books can either complement traditional textbook, or completely replace the
latter.
Another
serious competitor to the traditional textbook can become interactive
whiteboard. Interactive whiteboard - a valuable tool for teaching the whole
class. It is a visual resource that helps teachers to present new material and
visually exciting. This allows the board to provide information through a
variety of multimedia resources. Teachers can use the board to make the
presentation of ideas exciting and dynamic. Boards allow students to interact
with the new material, as well as a valuable tool for teachers to explain the
complex abstract ideas and concepts. On this board, you can easily change the
information or move objects, creating new connections. Teachers can talk aloud,
commenting on their actions, gradually to involve students in the process.
Distribution is received and training
programs, which serve not only as a source of knowledge, but also as a pilot
site, and also allows monitoring and evaluation of the quality of students'
knowledge. Distinguish the following varieties of training programs:
-
Demonstration programs;
- Software
testing and monitoring the level of knowledge;
-
Simulators;
-
Information and referral system;
- Expert
training systems;
-
Intelligent tutoring systems.
Occupy
special place game tutorials that contribute to the formation of learning
motivation, encourage initiative and creative thinking, develop the ability to
work together, to subordinate their interests to the common objectives.
The role of
the exclusive carrier of knowledge is gradually losing the teacher. The teacher
remains the role of the organizer of the learning process and the instructor.
In addition, the teacher provides individual monitoring of students, providing
individual assistance; ensure the correct operation of the components of the
information environment.
Absolutely
new and unique opportunities for the educational process provide a global
computer network Internet:
-
Communication with peers from around the world to exchange information and
possible joint creative projects;
- Monitoring
developments in the world through many online services.
This success
of computer technology in modern education is related to the fact that the
computer can be used at all stages of the learning process:
- In
explaining the new material;
- To
consolidate and repetition of already passed the training material;
- For the
control of knowledge and skills.
The
education system today does not have the right, as at the dawn of the century,
to build on the training assimilation amount of knowledge ready for transfusion
experience civilizations from the old to the new vessel. Therefore, in almost
all developed countries to make a sharp turn to learning to independently
extract the necessary information to isolate the problem and seek rational
solutions, to be able to critically analyze the knowledge and apply them to
solve new problems.
Communicating in the true language environment, provided by the Internet, students appear in the present life situations. Involved in the decision of the wide circle of significant, realistic, interesting and achievable problems, students are taught spontaneously and adequately to react on these situations. All of this stimulates creation of original statements, instead of sample manipulation with the language formulas.Paramount value is given to understanding, transfer of the maintenance and to sense expression that motivates studying of structure and the vocabulary of foreignlanguage which serves this purpose. Thus, attention of students being taught concentrates on the use of forms, rather than on the forms themselves and on grammar that is carried out indirectly, in direct dialogue, excepting pure studying of grammatical rules.The computer is loyal to a variety of students’ answers: it does not accompanies work of students with laudatory or negative comments that develops their independence and creates favorable social and psychological atmosphere at the lesson, giving to them a self-trust that is the important factor for development of their individuality.The development of education is organically connected today with level of its information potential. This characteristic line in many respects defines both a direction of evolution of the formation, and the future of all society. For the most successful orientation in the world information field it is necessary that the students receive both information and computer-screen culture and the priority in information search is more given to the Internet.REFERENCES
