New, modern stage in the development of
sociology begins with a period of weakening interest in the development of
general sociological theory. The value of case studies bring to the new level
of the changed conditions in the area of trade and the
possibility of studying them.
One of the key factors for the
development of trade, increasing its efficiency and improve the retail offer to
consumers is competition. Competition is seen as a factor regulating compliance
with public and private interests, as the "invisible hand" of the
market, equalizing rates of return in order to optimize the allocation of
capital and labor.
For researchers it is important to see in
the competition process of rivalry between the market that perform business
activities and are interested in achieving similar goals. Ensuring fair
competition, to a greater extent, it is necessary for the development of retail
and service sectors, as this sector has a significant impact on the welfare of
the population and the economy as a whole.
The problems associated with the
analysis of the Internet as the newest tool in the applied case study is highly
relevant to sociology. Due to the active penetration of the Internet in the
daily lives of people around the world is a lot of research using the Internet
as a tool for sociological information.
In contrast to the classical sociology,
used to study the social problems of a system of well-known methods, sociology
of information in a certain sense, "doomed" to conduct their
research, usually in computer networks. This does not negate the use of
information in the study of the processes of classical methods of empirical
sociology, and only requires additions and their development towards a more
explicit account of the specific subject of the study on the basis of the
capabilities of modern information technology.
The earliest sociological studies
conducted via e-mail. E-mail is the first step in the vast majority of Internet
users. The use of electronic mailings brings online survey to the traditional
model of mass surveys - postal questionnaire.
To improve the collection of
questionnaires, which are beginning to receive from the date of mailing for
three days, can be re-sending reminder letters. To organize texts profiles are
also newsgroups. Such groups are created for the discussion of certain topics
and attract large audiences. Each group has its own list of participants, which
can be used to create a sample list.
Thus, the development of information
technology is not rapidly but steadily. Today, the most common type of
information technology is the Internet. Internet - the most massive and rapid
source of information.
Each year, significantly increasing the
number of users of Internet services including in our country. The internet has
both positive and negative side of your content. Many psychologists believe
that the Internet disrupts a person hinders socialization, direct communication
is replaced by the virtual.
For information society is such a thing
as information overload, where on individuals are often inundated with
conflicting opinions and facts about the world arises as a consequence of the
globalization of the media, as a result of which people are bombarded by the
advancing at a tremendous rate of news and their integration. The pace of the
information revolution not leave hope that people will someday how rational use
of all the information. There is a growing violation of the privacy of
individuals or organizations using information technologies
Thus, the new state of society in which
we live, the need for adequate, a high-tech research tools. In this case, the
most logical and consistent is the use of Internet technology as a tool for
sociological research. The Internet can give the possibility of a global case
studies on topical issues of the international community and local polls in
regions as soon as possible.
