Introduction. The age structure of population is one of the basic features of the demographic situation. The current age structure in the country reflects results of the effect of various socio-economic and demographic factors and serves as a basis of assumptions working out of development of government for mid-term and long-term outlooks [1].

The aim of the study was to analyze data on the age structure in Kazakhstan.

Material and methods: The data analysis was performed by using data from statistical compilations of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2012, 2013 years. This study was carried out by a retrospective comparative analysis of data [2].

Results: In the result of analysis of data on the age structure of the Republic of Kazakhstan was found that in Kazakhstan age structure refers to the progressive type. Percentages of age structures in Kazakhstan for 2012 are presented in Figure 1.

Fig.1

Progressive type of population is when the proportion of children aged 0-14 years is higher than the share of population aged 50 years and over. Progressive type of population provides a further increase in population. Also, in progressive type of age structure is observed increase in demographic indices such as fertility, natural population growth, and decrease in mortality and infant mortality. Demographic indices for 2012, 2013 are presented in Table 1.

Conclusion. According to the results of analysis of data on the age structure in Kazakhstan, it is worth noting that the socio-economic condition of the country is developing in a positive way. The quality of medical services is improving, so it leads to an increase in the birth rate and a decrease in overall mortality. Accordingly, the health status of the population is improving and life expectancy indicators are becoming higher (2012-69.6 years, 2013-70.5 years). It was found that the lifestyle in 50% of cases affects to health, consequently, it might be assumed that most of population of Kazakhstan prefers a healthy lifestyle. These phenomena might be the result of productive work of public health members.
