Well-established business processes -
the key to success in the modern economy. And in order to be successful, you
need to extract the maximum profit in the course of their business. In this
article we discussed the pros and cons of outsourcing as a means of doing
business.
The well-established economic
definition, outsourcing is only considered as a transfer of conventional and
organically inherent in the organization functions outsourced. In a general
sense, given the current situation, outsourcing can be called a transmission by
the contractor under the contract, some parts of the business process or
business functions. It is understood that the contractor uses his professional
knowledge and skills to the needs of the business of the customer, and uses them
in the interest of the customer for a fee, determined to establish the value of
services, not share profits.
The main condition for the transition
to outsourcing is an opportunity to highlight the work of outsourcing, without
prejudice to operational management. The basic principle of outsourcing - to
leave themselves just what you can do better than others, to transfer to
another what he's doing better than you. Outsourcing is most relevant to those
companies that have recently been created and are in the process of formation
and development, when the turnover is still not enough to contain the full
staff, and the amount of work only provides part-time employment. Another
incentive for outsourcing may be the growth of the business, in which the load and
the costs of non-core processes increase significantly, as well as difficulties
in recruiting professional staff.
On the advantages and disadvantages
of outsourcing can speak in the context of some of the most important aspects.
The first - the strategic priorities. If one of the key elements of the
strategy is the concentration of all kinds of resources, and above all the
time, organizational effort and money to the most promising and important areas
of activity and types of products, in such a situation, outsourcing will be
useful for the company.
The benefits of outsourcing are:
•
the possibility of downsizing the
organization;
•
better performance of certain
functions of the specialized companies;
•
reliable services outsourcer by
combining expertise and experience to reduce risks of the organization;
•
accelerates the acquisition of
resources and skills;
•
ensuring greater flexibility of the
company in case of sudden changes in market conditions or customer preferences:
easier and cheaper to find new suppliers with the necessary capabilities and
resources, than to rebuild the internal operations of the company, eliminating
one of power and resources and creating new ones;
•
improve the innovative capabilities
of the company due to the interaction and partnership with world-class
suppliers who have great intellectual potential and rich innovative experience;
Today many organizations and
companies prefer to use the services of outsourcing companies to significantly
save on the content of their own staff and to ensure the necessary conditions
for their work. However, there are not only advantages, but also disadvantages
of outsourcing, which has to be aware of each Manager.
Among the disadvantages of
outsourcing, we would like to highlight the following:
• the company risks
withdraw its limits, too many activities and lose part of its own resources and
capabilities. In such cases, the company will lose its activities, which for a
long time ensure its success in the market;
• transfer of some
functions to outsourcing is impractical for large organizations because it can
lead to loss of privacy, reduce the efficiency in providing the necessary
information for the management of the organization. Leakage of confidential
information is, in turn, can lead to a loss of competitiveness of the company;
• sufficiently high risk
of losses due to poor quality of service, because outsourcing in Russia is only
developing.
