In recent years, the majority of Kazakhstani commercial enterprises work in tough competitive environment that requires the companies to search for new ways of managing the financial and material resources. One of the most important tasks in the management review for wholesale distributors is to manage stock [1].

Low stock level inevitably leads to stock shortage, and as a result, loss of pent up demand, a high level - to the increased storage expenses. Applying the scientifically grounded approaches to the stock optimization allows minimizing costs, and, consequently, increases the competitiveness of the trade organization. Problem solving, focused on the stock management of the sales organizations, is very important for organizations working in the domestic pharmaceutical market. This is due to the increasing number of product lines and total revenue growth of the most national drug distributors [2].

In turn, the growth rates of trade companies is due, firstly, by the increase in the intensity of the pharmaceutical market in Kazakhstan, and, secondly, by reducing the total number of large wholesale companies and, consequently, by the increase in the share of each company. Growing the bill of goods and volume of sales in the pharmaceutical companies, on the one hand, contribute to additional profit and strengthening the market position of each company, on the other hand, lead to a significant increase in logistical costs and, as a consequence, in financial instability  [3]. According to researchers of the pharmaceutical market, pharmaceutical distributors need to improve constantly the effectiveness of technology in business processes to maintain their market positions, including the fields of logistics stock management. Problems of stock management of trade organization were handled by domestic and foreign scientists, as a result of which they created and put into practice a variety of management models  [4, 5].

Further research in this area is reflected in a number of publications, showing the features of the application of the developed approaches to the modeling of different systems of stock management [6].  Recently the literature for different types of businesses describes possible modifications of stock management models that take into account the influence of various factors and constraints in the work of the organizations [6]. To find the optimal logistic model a number of researchers used the methods of simulation modeling to ensure maximum consistency and effectiveness of decisions made [1].

In publications special focus was recently on the automation of pharmacy business, herewith the development of system stock management was key aspect of automation [3]. For example, a number of authors agreed that in order to regulate the process of analysis and stock management in the pharmaceutical company, there are good reasons to use a number of classifications: ABC analysis, the stages of product life cycle, the time of goods realization, demand elasticity etc.

In general, the implementation of strategies to increase the efficiency of stock management for the wholesale and retail level in the Republic of Kazakhstan had to lead to the maximization of profits of pharmaceutical companies and suppliers, as well as to maximize the satisfaction of end users demand in drugs. Logistical approach, provided a comprehensive account of the special functional processes in the pharmacy and defined a common mechanism of forming and management of commodity distribution system, based on the whole individual pharmacy organizations [4].
