Correlation analysis in the system Deductor Academic

 

In Deductor Academic analyst basic concept is the scenario. A scenario is a sequence of operations on the data provided in the form of a hierarchical tree. In the tree, each operation forms a node whose title contains the name of the data source name used processing method used in this field, and so on. Creating a new node import by using the Import Wizard. To import any node can add a node processing. It all handlers grouped into the following four categories:

- data cleaning;

- data transformation;

- Data mining;

- other

Consider the use of a tool "Correlation analysis" of the "Clear Data".

1.   Using the Import Wizard (F6), will make a raw data into a text file

2.   Run the wizard processing (F7), choose Tools "Correlation Analysis"

3.   In step 2 of 7 define the type of unit, and the assignment of input and output data.  For our example the input data are course attendance student interest in learning, the presence of the grant. Output information is student achievement. Push on.

4.    In step 3 of the 7 parameters are determined correlation calculation. Choose the Pearson correlation coefficient. Рush on.

5.   In step 4 of 7 press "Start" button to start the process. Upon successful completion, click on.

6.     In Step 5 of 7 select significant and insignificant factors exclude or leave everything unchanged. Push on.

7.     In step 6 of 7 defines how data is displayed. Choosing a correlation matrix and a table. Push on.

8.     In step 7 of 7 system displays a message about the successful completion of the test. Click on Finish and see the result. 

 

 

Analyze the results presented no difficulty: in the "input field" displays all the influencing factors in the "correlation with output fields" name of the final factor and pair correlation coefficients. As you can see, there is the most intimate connection between such pairs as performance-rate performance-attendance. The result is weakly dependent on factors such as interest in learning and the availability of grant.
