METHODS AND DEVELOPMENT STAGES OF
LEARNING AND ACQUISITION OF ENGLISH LANGUAGE
Abstract. The article analyzes the methods of learning and
acquisition of English language associated with its development and improvement
of knowledge by students. The article offers tips to overcome them. Also, there
given the factors contributing to the improvement of the educational process
and recommended useful materials, websites to explore and overcome the English
language.
Key words: methods, learning, acquisition, websites, textbooks,
effective technology.
Introduction. The development and use of effective technology and
teaching methods and overcome, new forms of organization of educational
process, the formation of new relationships in learning the English language is
today an important requirement of time. In educational process of institutions
finding and using new methods of activating students in the learning and
acquisition process is continually evolving. Today, those involved the ordinary
teachers. In relation to methods of learning and teaching of English language there
are discussed different debates and discussions.
The practice of problem-based learning and developmental education led
to the emergence of methods, called active. In the traditional learning
process, the learner plays a passive role: listens to, remembers and reproduces
what the teacher gives. There are many training methods in which the activity
of the learner is productive, creative nature. At the core of the methods is
the dialogical interaction of the teacher and the student.
The purpose of the article is to give different author's techniques and
tips for learning and acquisition method of English language.
Learning and acquisition method is a critical structural components of a
holistic educational process, which includes goals and learning objectives,
contents, forms of organization of learning and its results. As is known, the
main characteristic of the learning process is his goal, which depends on the
choice of the content of educational material. This content should correspond
to the teaching methods.
Learning and acquisition method performs an important function in
learning: the transfer of students to the content of subjects, management of
cognitive activity of students, intellectual development of students and
formation of necessary personal qualities. The method also performs a
stimulating, communicative, diagnostic and correctional functions, is essential
for normal functioning of the educational process [1].
We offer interesting study methods based on learning and acquisition
method of English language. One of the most famous effective authors’ methods
of learning English are [2]:
The Method of Pimsler
This course of learning foreign words recognized in the world community
as one of the best. The potential audience of students, modern business people
who are always in motion. Classes are divided into 3 courses 30 lessons lasting
half an hour. All lessons conducted by two speakers – Russian and English
speaking. The task for the students is to listen carefully and to do all the
things that the speakers say. Because the training combines listening and
pronunciation will easily learn to communicate with foreigners. What good is this
method? It helps to avoid mistakes of wrong pronunciation, and relatively easy
to remember the number of words and combinations of phrases, sufficient for
full communication. It's the only patented method of memory training which
contributes to the rapid memorization of information. Educational gaps in 20-30
minutes method allows to memorize up to 100 words. Thus, by the end of
training, the students need to know 2,000 to 3,000 words.
The Method of Ilya Frank
Ilya Mikhailovich Frank is a Russian philologist, polyglot, author of
several books on learning foreign languages. The eponymous method of learning
English, aimed at expanding vocabulary through the reading of literature. This
is possible thanks to the special design of the location of the original and
translation. The text is broken into small fragments, each of which should be
literal Russian translations, if necessary, supplemented with lexical and
grammatical help. This method differs significantly from the common method of
parallel translation with the placement options of the text column or in the
second half of the book. How is it better? It contains grammar review, with
examples, the use of the word in common phrases. There written transcription for
compound words. The reader does not have long to look for word translations. Of
course, in order to read in English, you need to have at least basic knowledge
of the language. But, in general, the method is interesting and especially good
for students.
Alexander Dragunkin’s Method
The number of apologists’ ways almost comparable to the number of
critics. Own logic of understanding of the grammar lessons all provide by method
of Alexander Dragunkin. He famously proposed the use of multi-language
transcription for memorizing English words. His arguments are very simple –
accents and pronunciation so much that English need not be similar to typical.
Advantages: the friendliest terms, easy for remember. Disadvantages: effectiveness
is difficult to assess and the role of standard pronunciation should not be underestimated
[3].
Method Dmitry Petrov
Polyglot with blue screen Dmitry Petrov proved the effectiveness of his
method on the example of well-known figures of Russian culture. Thousands of
people together with writers, actors, directors online could try his technique
for yourself – often quite successfully. What's the point? This method allows a
small amount of words to combine phrases, sufficient for understanding and
communication. The course consists of 16 hours of video tutorials, the
materials of which are set out extremely clear. Additionally available text files
of the lessons.

example, Ukrainian). This will greatly facilitate the understanding of the
English language.

about what you are doing in English. When you are doing routine chores, try to
rehearse the sentences that describe your actions in English.

English. On the Internet a huge number of English language news sites.

Write stories in
English. It is ideal for those who think keeping a personal diary describing
routine events boring. Let your imagination run wild and write about everything
that comes into your head.

Learn famous
poems in English. This will help you to reproduce the intonation of English
speech.

Sign up for an
English exam. Even if you don't need it. The fee for the exam, such as TOEFL,
TOEIC, IELTS or FCE can serve as a great motivator for a more serious study of
the language.
Conclusion. Everyone chooses his own method of learning English. And we recommend
use a combination of all methods of exploration and development of the English
language. The more time the student will spend with the original speech and
books, the faster you will master the fundamentals of the language. Nowadays
there are very many modern techniques of English language learning and teaching
that make language learning very easy, affordable, interesting and fun. Many
world famous universities like Cambridge or Oxford for decades to improve the
methodology of teaching English, they invest in the English language of all its
scientific potential.
