Online lessons as one of the forms of the
self-assisted students’ work.

Abstract: At present, there are a lot of forms of self-assisted students’ work
organization. One of the most the popular is online teaching in English which
is widely used at the educational process. It provides students with a great
chance to be creative in their way of thinking, speaking and communicating in
English. Online English lessons are the best approach in organizing self-assisted
students’ work, teaching students to understand and practice professional
English.
Keywords: self-assisted students’ work organization, forms, online teaching, creative learning,
creative skills, technology, communicate.
I. Introduction. The main idea of teaching
foreign languages nowadays is based on the usage of new forms and methods of
self-assisted students’ work using new technologies to evolve students’ communicative
skills, expand grammar knowledge, exercise listening skills, introduce more
flexible process of education and prepare students for B level. On-line lessons are one of them.
In the methodological literature there are many works
devoted to the online methods of teaching English, such as Craft A., Davis V.A, Davidson, N., &
Major, C. H., Summers J.J., Waigandt A., and Whittaker T.A. and
others.
II. Formulation of the problem. The priority task of the high
schools today is to train professionals capable to deliberate by themselves and
be able to do an independent choice in different situations. Achieving this
goal requires a creative improvement of existing forms, methods, ways and means
of self-assisted work of the university students. The task of the article is to reveal the ways of self-assisted students’ work organization using
online lessons when teaching English.
III. Results. The analysis of the studies
[1,3,5,7,8] showed that at present online approaches
are in great request and are popular among the forms of self-assisted students’ work organization. They permit to organize students’ work in such a way
that provides exercising spoken English which is the bases of communication and
mutual understanding people.
It is an irresistible fact that online lessons are one
of the most effective forms of organization of the self-assisted students work.
They can lead to speech automatism formed only with the active self-employment
those who study it and knowledge absorbed due to the certain planned
activities.
Traditionally, the organization of educational
process for students of correspondence courses in a credit-modular system is
carried out in several stages, which include online communication, practice and
evaluation, such as determining the
level of training of students, identifying the knowledge gaps; scan briefing during the
installation session, the content of which includes information of the module;
instructions for further work on the algorithm module study material within it;
provide students with materials needed for self-assisted students’ work; self-assisted work of students with the
materials of the module; generalized current control; assisting in eliminating gaps and errors; final control;
generalization and systematization of knowledge on the topics of the module. The
tasks are performed as the self-assisted work with the help of counseling
teacher. At all the stages self-assisted
students’ work organization is supported by the feedback
provided materials for self-control and online lessons.
The analysis of the studies [2,4,6] showed that using online techniques, the distance learning correspondence study
provides more opportunities for feedback as the student with the teacher and
other students of the group. Thus, during the chats, students can get advice
from a teacher to study some grammar or conversational topics. During the
forum, students communicate with the teacher, answering his questions, and have
the opportunity to discuss with classmates. Webinars provide interactive
sessions of the virtual audience that allows remote collaborative learning
environment of students with modeling real audience on the Internet. This lets
you practice communication in a foreign language in advance unprepared
situations.
The analysis of the methodological literature [1, 2, 3, 4] showed that online
lessons allow undergraduates to break down the barrier in language while
talking with the native speakers from
foreign studied countries. Language online clubs which can be joined by any
person, play an important role in education.
The Skype online training [3,4,6] proved that it is also an efficient form of learning new words and practicing grammar. We
can find a number of tests according to the levels of the students to conduct online
classes, also provide the students with watching video films and reading original
books giving new words and tasks after the reading.
Online lessons emphasize the role of the training of
listening. While doing special exercises undergraduates can catch and keep in
their mind the link between separate words and the whole phrases. The learners can remember
the whole semantic phrases in the context of their possible use.[1,5,6]
Online technologies are widely used in the National
University of Pharmacy when delivering lectures and conducting practical
classes for students of distant education. It is the best way not only to
control their knowledge but also to explicate some grammar phenomenon, to widen
their vocabulary, and improve their understanding of the native English. The
lessons are based on the presentations of new vocabulary, grammar rules,
watching video, where students can hear the explained new words and the given
grammar constructions. After watching video materials, the students have to do
self-assessment work doing lexical and grammar tasks. After that they should use
the keys to control themselves. The lessons are conducted during the break, at
least about 30 minutes, or while the session.
To enhance the self-assisted students’ work our
University developed work plans and programs of the planned subjects,
recommended textbooks, domestic and foreign literature for additional self-assisted
reading. In preparation for the next lecture or session each student carefully
studies the material and plan of the next lecture, which he received in the
previous lecture with a list of recommended sources for self-study material
[2].
Enormous role acquires the use of distance learning,
which is defined as the interaction of teachers and students at a distance,
showing all characteristic of the educational process components (objectives,
contents, methods, organizational forms, teaching aids) specific means IT. Open
course provides open educational resources to open educational practices open
content. Remote work not only encourages communication between a student and a tutor,
but also the development of cooperation of students, providing quick feedback,
saving time use, involving active learning tools, highly motivated students.
Learning English can be more than successfully
implemented through distance learning courses. Today, when creating a distance
learning course instructor operates technology such teaching methods as using
blogs, wikis, social bookmarks, file sharing, social networks, aggregators. For
example, students will be useful to link to on-line conferences, speeches,
students answer questions on tests, quizzes and in the course and on the web.
Check your literacy, carry out a search operation in dictionaries reinforce
knowledge of vocabulary, grammar, listening to audio recordings, view videos [8].
IT weigh especially students to master a foreign
language as provide a unique opportunity at a distance to communicate with
native speakers, attend online lectures by leading experts on language or
profession student (the English).
Online English teaching course in our University gives
a strong bases and practice as for developing linguistic intuition. After watching
our online lessons learners needn’t tutorials. They can continue to enrich their
knowledge of the English language reading English books, listening to English
audio or watching English movies.
IV. Conclusions.
So, as we see, using online lessons of teaching English is an effective method self-assisted students’ work organization.
This method of teaching is actual nowadays. It will play a key role in training
and developing individual creative abilities and potential of the students in
the future.
