Material
design
Material design — it is the language of visual images, which not so long ago, Google Inc.
has created to unify the interfaces of its products and services. Brandbook,
which includes all the elements of the design trends are constantly evolving
and updated, while maintaining the fundamental principles unchanged.
Corporation Google
needs new perception of themselves. Not as a search engine, as well as an
integrated digital environment, and the data provider. The strategic vision of
the company is to create a new user experience and penetration of services in
all aspects of user activity. This is the idea of a single
interface — to unite all the diverse
and even various services in a unified manner, to create a holistic user
experience.
Material as a metaphor
With regard to the
visual and functional part, Google has been able to combine the principles of
good design with innovations and opportunities of new technologies and science.
Google Quote:
"Material design is based on the tactile reality, inspired by the study of
paper and ink, technologically advanced and open to the imagination and
magic."
Materialism and its
imitation in the digital environment is not new. Apple has until recently used
skeuomorph philosophy in the design of devices and interfaces.
Skeuomorph — is the practice of simulation and virtual object perception approach to
its analogue of the material world. A good example in achieving this similarity
in modern practice are skeuomorph "Notes" application and
"Newstand" for the iPhone.
The evolution of digital
design
Most of us interact with the digital world most of my life. For we are not
as critical to the virtual buttons are similar to their natural counterparts.
And the faster it will get used to the majority, the faster digital design will
be able to move forward.
On this basis, material design is not so affected skeuomorph and soon he
became a new stage in the development of the language of visual images and
reality simulation. At the junction skeuomorph and evolution of the user
experience and has appeared material design.
Visibility as a fundamental
basis
The surfaces and edges of the elements in the design direction of creating
visual imagery and signals that convey tips and help navigate intuitively, as
if it was happening in the real world.
Using the familiar tactile characteristics and realistic lighting help the
user visually separate the main object from the secondary, to understand the
relation of the object to its surroundings and to define its purpose.
Material design is based on the principles and print design. And not only
for beauty but also for emphasis and focus the user's attention on the desired
element, for easy navigation among the hierarchy of interface designs for
intuitive transmit their meaning.
Saturation, smooth color. The
sharp, defined edges. Large lot of typography and spacing between elements.
This is the visual component of the material.
Meaningful dynamics
On the User activities focused focus. The interaction with the design
controls the user experience, and not vice versa. All the action takes place in
a single environment, interactive objects without interrupting the sequence of
transitions from one environment to another.

of material design

Conclusion
The main objective pursued by material design, conceived by its developers,
is to create a unified user-space on all platforms, devices, regardless of
their size and the diagonal of the screen.
So, the Google will stop soon perceived by users as a search engine or
Android smartphone like the Chrome browser or a separate service GMail. Unified
interface design and integration of all services concept will create an
entirely new user experience that is intuitive, easy to use, it contains an
algorithm of interaction similar to the objects of the material world and,
moreover, blurs the line between the real and the virtual world.
