Morality
of a legal profession member gains in importance in our time. During the last
years a tornado of reforms has lifted the legal system off its base and it is still flying through the
air. Major changes have taken place to
our laws. New laws are developing every day. In this respect the problem of
future lawyers’ moral training is of great importance. This article draws attention to the
possibilities of future lawyers’ moral training by means of foreign language
for forming modern Russian social and constitutional state.
The
authors of the article define the main problem of their investigation. It is to
reveal the possibilities of moral training by means of foreign language; to
draw colleagues’ attention to the problem of future lawyers’ moral training by
means of a foreign language. Pedagogical and linguistic approaches and methods
are enumerated; they can help the authors to analyze this problem from
different points and solve a given problem.
Special
attention is paid to the necessity of moral problems’ correct solving by future
lawyers themselves. The lack of lawyers’ moral qualities directly means the
lack of legality in a state where they work.
Currency of

specified by a valued situation in a modern Russian society. Morality of a
legal profession member gains in importance in our time. The lack of lawyer’s
moral qualities directly means the lack of legality in a state where he works.
Lawyers are often in a situation of a moral choice, that’s why they should have
not only professional knowledge and skills but also personal qualities. And future
lawyers should be able to use these qualities in order to cope with
difficulties appearing during the course of work.
The
fundamental aim of our research is to work out a methodological base of spiritual
and moral training by means of foreign language; to draw our colleagues’
attention to the problem of future lawyers’ spiritual and moral training by
means of foreign language; to explore the experience and traditions of
spiritual and moral training in institutions of higher education in Russia in
the second of half of the XIX and at the turn of the XX century. The decision
of this aim is connected with the development of the student’s spiritual and
moral identity intended for forming of personal emotional motivation, for
"soul development" as a center of spiritual life (Johann Heinrich
Pestalozzi).
It is spiritual and moral training that we
connect with the possibility of personal and social development. The analysis
of theoretical investigations and English teachers’ practical experience gave
us the possibility to reveal the contradiction between the necessity of future
lawyers’ spiritual and moral training and the insufficient readiness of foreign
language studying possibilities. Our aim is to raise the moral level of future
legal profession members.
Interdisciplinary
character of investigation of the spiritual and moral training problem and of
the creative usage ways of prerevolutionary traditions and experience suggests
the application of pedagogical, linguistic and psychological approaches and methods
of research. The combination of these approaches and methods gives us the
possibility to study this many sided problem and to solve fundamental problem
of our investigation
The aim of
our research is to reveal the possibilities of spiritual and moral training by
means of foreign language; to draw colleagues’ attention to the problem of
future lawyers’ spiritual and moral training by means of foreign language; to
explore the experience and traditions of spiritual and moral training in
institutions of higher education in Russia in the second of half of the
XIX and at the turn of the XX century. The project is thought for a period of
one year, during this year we plan to do different kinds of work.
The problem of
future lawyers’ spiritual and moral training by means of foreign language is not an absolutely new one. Many famous
philosophers and teachers of the past paid much attention to spiritual and moral
training through the culture and the language, not only through the native but
also through the foreign ones.
We plan to
write down several scientific articles connected with the theme of our
investigation, participate in scientific conferences, draw our colleagues’
attention to this problem; search for material for writing the
monograph on the problem of investigation. The aim of this monograph is to draw
society’s attention to the problem of future lawyers’ spiritual and moral
training by means of foreign language, make sure future lawyers that moral laws
play a great role in their professional life, give proof of the leading role of
conscience as a main quality of a future lawyer.
Any young person who wants to become a lawyer
should understand how laws affect so many different aspects of our lives and
our country as a whole. Our laws are vital to us. Without laws there is no hope
for our society and there is no chance for us to progress. So, personal moral
qualities of future lawyers in an exciting and restless time in development of
our laws prove to be very valuable. And it is hard to overestimate the role of
foreign language in a training process.
