Human life is filled with a wide variety of events. If to analyze it, then surely one can see that every human life path consists of a sequence of events, circumstances, situations. Even in quite a successful person, life occasionally accompanied by various difficulties, obstacles and challenges that one need to overcome and solve skillfully.

People often make incorrect or erroneous decisions in difficult situations that leads to a decline in mental health.

The aim of this study is to determine the characteristics of behavioral strategies (copings) of overcoming difficult life situations by students of I course in Bukovinian State Medical University.

Methods of research: analysis of psychological and pedagogical literature on the issue; surveys, observations, interviews, method of J. Amirhan “Indicator of coping strategies”.

Spiritual growth and development of the person is effectuated throughout his life. However, it should be noted that primarily in youth, the foundation of the spiritual aspect of man is laid, his peculiarity is formed. Person not only possesses a certain amount of skill, knowledge and behavior in youth, but also acquires necessity to participate actively in the consumption of spiritual values.

The main psychological heritage of early adolescence is the opening of one’s inner world. Adolescence is extraordinary, it is usually divided into younger (older pupils) and senior (student age) [1, p. 26]. The problem of choosing life values emerges in young person in his youth. The central mental processes of adolescence is the development of consciousness and self-consciousness.

This independence gives the strongest emotions, overwhelmed emotionally and creates a lot of problems. To reach the understanding of relativity of any independence in order to appreciate family ties and the authority of the older generation experience, youth have to overcome difficult experiences of alienation from significant range of people through the deep reflexive suffering and search for true values to return in the new incarnation - as an adult now.

One of the universally accepted current challenges is the need of the dynamic adaptation of the individual to the rapid changes in society. Particularly important is the issue of finding ways to exercise effective influence to promote young people’s ability to overcome difficult life situations.

Under difficult life situations, most researchers understand any difficult situation that leads to breach of working capacity, established relationships, creates negative emotions and experiences, discomfort, that under certain conditions can lead to negative consequences for development of personality [2, p. 12].

Difficult life situations is one of the main components of the socialization process, which stimulate personal growth. They contribute to development (when changes of constructive nature occur), achieving of new forms of balanced relations of the individual with the environment, promote moral stability and persistence. They arise in the case of imbalance in the relations system of the individual and its environment; or consistency between the goals, aspirations and abilities of their realization and qualities of the individual. Such situations stimulate the activity of human and are the factor of the emergence of increased requirements for its skills and capabilities, personal potential.

There are four key concepts which in modern psychology describes the critical life situations. As such are: stress, frustration, conflict and crisis [3, p. 32]. Success in solving difficult life situation depends largely on the individual. Important indicators in subjective picture of life situation are complicated picture of the situation and how to overcome it.

Important indicators of subjective picture of life situation is complicated picture of the situation and how to overcome it. Works devoted to the study of the ways of overcoming or doping appeared in foreign psychology in the second half of the twentieth century. For the first time the term “coping” appeared in the psychological literature in 1962 [4]. The concept of “coping” is interpreted differently in different psychological schools. Since the beginning of the 90s the study of coping behavior becomes the research area of domestic scholars. Research of coping strategies yet quite disparate. Most researchers of coping strategies share them on active and passive.

The types of complex life situations that personality faced during early adulthood are determinate as a result of empirical research and marked effective behavior strategies: redefining the situation (new interpretation), relaxation (switching), distraction (divertissement), search of support, emotional reaction.
