Economic incentives of
environmental performance
The
basis of the improvement of economic methods to stimulate environmental
performance measures on a system that is intended to increase interest in
businesses in implementing legislation on environmental protection, thereby
reducing out their tax liabilities. Economic incentives, on the one hand, is
provided by tax regulations, establish incentives, the special policy on excise
taxes, loans, etc., on the other hand, provides for special tax environmentally
harmful products and the products manufactured using environmentally dangerous
technologies.
Economic
incentives are a way to solve environmental problems by encouraging
entrepreneurship, in which address issues of conservation. For effective
economic techniques to stimulate environmental activities are the following:
the establishment of tax and other incentives provided to businesses and
organizations in the implementation of low-waste and non-waste technologies and
industries, use of secondary resources, the implementation of other activities
that provide environmental benefits, establishing higher depreciation of fixed
environmental funds, the use of promotional prices and premiums for
environmentally friendly products, the introduction of a special taxing
environmentally harmful products, and products using environmentally dangerous
technologies, the use of concessional lending to enterprises, institutions and
organizations (whether public or private) that effectively carry environmental protection,
strengthening control over the use of natural resources and the application of
appropriate penalties.
Economic
incentives to measures for the protection of the environment and environmental
management should be based on consistent development and introduction of new
methods based on positive reinforcement, taking into account regional
characteristics, the main purpose should be to encourage businesses to
environmental activities.
