Factors affecting
the efficiency of using the cloud technologies.
From the beginning of cloud Computing rapid development, most IT-specialists in details have described different sides of merits and demerits of this technology, that way, having forming camps “pros” and
“cons”. Nevertheless, today, cloud technologies are one the most fast moving
destinations in the world.
The term
"cloud computing" (cloud computing) emerged in the early 1990s as the
possibility of using a special notation placed on the web server hardware
computing power. In the era of the dot-com at the turn of the XX and XXI
century appeared the first commercial implementation of themselves,
"clouds", representing at the time the storage system (it is the
Amazon EC2 and development at its facilities inexpensive clustered virtual
hosting). Originally created for content management systems with high load (in
the context of the dot-com era is concerned the online stores), they were
relevant and appearing in the same period of social Web, the Web has brought
the idea of sharing different types of content created and
uploaded by users.
Almost
simultaneously with this, "cloud solutions" appeared for the online
email services. It became obvious that the next step will be to transfer the online
functionality of conventional desktop applications used on a daily basis by
virtually all computer owners. Among the first of such products in the
"cloud" moved office applications (word processing, CRM, accounting
systems), which in a short period could form a certain trend in the market.
For effective work and development of
clouds needs powerful information technology (IT), such as broadband links,
high-end servers, trusted and secure means of data protection.

Today cloud`s
dependence of the Internet is very similar to the dependence of electricity. Because,
in modern society to find the person who doesn`t use PC (or other gadget)
without accessing to the Internet is rather difficult, and no one business
office couldn`t completely work having no access to the Wide Area Network.
For
cloud`s work it is necessary constant high-speed connection with Internet.
It is because of many “cloud” programs requires good Internet connection with a
big channel
capacity.
Broadband link (also high speed) allows work with the Internet 40 times quicker
than Dial-Up (with using modem, which is plugging in analog subscriber line of telephone network of
common use) and DSL (digital subscriber line). It should be noted that, with
developing of communication, the cost of telecommunication services over the
last decade significantly decreased, but channel capacity and productivity of existing communication
channels has increased, which played not a significant role in the spreading of
cloud computing.
Programs, which are situated in the “cloud”
could work slower than in the local computer and be independent of
rate limiting link channel. The whys of it can also be a problem in the path
between the user and the "cloud”.
To avoid the problems with the server from the technical side, it is
necessary thoroughly choose the provider.
Sure, with time already, rich feature of "cloud" software will
expand, but today the "cloud" lose their boxed counterparts
predecessors. For example, documents, tables and presentations in the Google Docs in the comparison with similar office applications as Microsoft Office by it`s functionality loses last. In cases when
required functions in the "cloud" service are available, it is efficient
to use packaged software and optionally send to "cloud" the files themselves.
Cloud computing are in daily use of an
impressive number of Internet users already, giving at the very
least possibility to get access to own data, which are situated in the “cloud” at
any point of the Earth's surface, where
there is the ability of internet connection from any device of the new
generation.
