Organizational aspects
of Rugby League are in Ukraine
Analysing the structure of the organizational systems in the field of
physical culture and sport in Ukraine, we defined the system of organization
and management, most suitable for development of this sport in our country.
The Ukrainian federation of Rugby League (UFRL)
is responsible before Department of
education and science, young people and sport for preparation and results of performance
of the Ukrainian rugby-players on international competitions, organization and holding
of national and other competitions in accordance with the united calendar plan.
Also, outside UFRL give methodical help in organization of educational-training
process in sports and general schools, sections, clubs, teams, carries out
control on their activity.
The system which enables evidently to present organization and
management of Rugby League in
Ukraine (fig. 1) is below presented [1].
A
management of development of Rugby League in Ukraine is carried out by UFRL – management subject possessing
exceptional plenary powers on development of Rugby League and is the аll ukrainian public association of athletic-sporting
orientation, which unites sportsmen, judges, other specialists on Rugby League. The primary
purpose of activity of federation is an assistance to development of Rugby League in Ukraine, meeting
and defence of social, economic, sporting and other general interests of its
members in this country and abroad.
UFRL numbers unites 15 regional federations which
submit to the higher leading bodies of Federation (President, Presidium,
executive Committee), and also abide regulations of UFRL and rules which are accepted by their
higher leading bodies and approved by Presidium of Federation.
Preparation of sporting reserve in Rugby League Ukraine is carried out by the network of sporting
schools and sporting clubs.

Rugby League
develops in 15 areas of Ukraine. Leading positions of Rugby League are in the next regions: Kharkiv, Donetsk,
Dnipropetrovsk in particular cities: Kharkiv, Donetsk, Krasnoarmy, Avdeevka, Yasinovata,
Dnipropetrovsk, Krivoy rog, Odesa and Sevastopol. To date UFRL counts about 500 members of all
ages, and participants of teams of Championship of Ukraine – more than 150
sportsmen. Efficiency of preparation of reserves in Rugby League is related to providing of successive training of
young sportsmen in junior sports schools [2], that allows on every stage to
attract attention on certain number of rugby-players and provide the personal
interest of the trainers staff which took part in their preparation to
successful performances [3, 4].
UFRL holds club competitions
on territory of Ukraine and engages in development of child-youth and student
sport [5]. Similarly a federation organizes holding of international
competitions on Rugby League and engages in preparation of national national
teams.
This year Rugby
League got official status, as kind sport in Ukraine. That is notable
and very important step for this sport for all amateurs, both in our country
and in Europe on the whole.
Program of development of child-youth Rugby League, which was begun last year by
the first four junior sports schools, now will be continued in all over this
country and entered general educational schools, junior sports schools and, in
future, in of top level sport.
Thus, the results of analysis of development of Rugby League showed in Ukraine, that
this organizational development made it possible for a few years of development
of Rugby League in Ukraine to
obtain ponderable successes. Now UFRL
is the member of European Federation Rugby
League (EFRL) and International Federation of Rugby League (IFRL), and the national combined team of Ukraine is
on 13-th place in the International rating of RLIS out of 45 teams, that
testifies high efficiency of the already done work and further development and
popularization of this sport among children and teenagers.
