Guidelines for conducting seminars, workshops disciplines of civil law cycle

Theoretical seminars can be different in nature, depending on the specific goals set by the teacher at this stage of education. There are three main types of theoretical seminars.

a) The theoretical seminar - cognitive. It is designed to help students to understand the basic fundamental categories of the subject ("unit"). This form of the seminar can be used at the beginning of the study subjects ("unit") as a way of initial familiarization with the major categories, which will have to deal with. This can be used different ways of organizing such a seminar, in particular the general reference to all the students to explore the definition of the concept or design (categories); may order one or more students to prepare a short report on a particular issue and its subsequent discussion; You can give the task a student or a few students to study certain articles in journals covering this or that category of civil rights, and others. It is also possible the combination of certain methods at the discretion of the teacher.

b) The theoretical seminar - debate. The workshop of this type is best done when the topic has been studied, or a significant part of certain big and fairly debatable issue. It can be carried out in a "round table" where everyone expresses their position, followed by summarizing. In this case, along with methods of preparation, specified in clause. "A", you can use some elements of the "business game", in particular to break the students into groups, each of which must defend a certain position with the necessary evidence. There are also a group of "experts" who should analyze performance and make a conclusion about what the best position to take into account. The role of the teacher is more, especially during the preparation of the workshop, where it is necessary to determine the range of controversial issues, according to choose the books, give students specific tasks (groups of students), and so on. N. At the end the teacher must take stock and, mainly, to assess the work done Students work independently prepare to dispute. Particular attention should be paid to the fact that students in the period of debate referred not only to the read literature, but also on jurisprudence. Pay attention to the correctness of the speakers, to inculcate in them skills when discussing intelligence, respect for other points of view.

c) Theoretical Seminar - final. It is possible to conduct the study at the end of topics summarizing. The organization of this workshop will be available as a conference or in a different form. The purpose of the workshop - better identify the students' knowledge and evaluate them. When summing up the study of the apple, "the student shows good knowledge, this assessment may be considered during the boundary control. It is necessary to advance this aim the students to be some incentive for their independent work.

Select the type of theoretical seminar on a specific topic - the case of the teacher. It depends on the topic and the nature of the group. Do not think that for each topic should be carried out all three kinds of theoretical seminar. It's impossible. It should choose what is more important for the topic and for the group. It is necessary to find the right combination of theoretical seminar with other forms of conducting seminars and workshops.

In preparation for the theoretical seminar, the teacher should keep in mind that the main purpose of theoretical seminars - improving students' independent work. This can be achieved not common and uncertain task group, and if possible a precise and specific task to each student or group of students, the implementation of which is easily verified. At the same time it would be wrong to give jobs only performing students.

It seems that the active participation of students in the theoretical seminar will enable the teacher to orient the student to work independently, and can be, and a thesis. In other words, the head of the workshop is to look at the task given by the students on the theoretical seminar promising, with the possibility of their use in independent work.

Independent work - kind of personal activity of the student, based on their own cognitive resources. The aim of independent work of students is learning how to work with the scientific literature and practical materials necessary for an in-depth study of a particular discipline civil law cycle and sustainable development of their ability to independently (without a teacher) study and presentation of the information received. In this regard, the main tasks of independent work of students of law are:

Firstly, the study continued right at home program proposed teacher;
secondly, instilling students interest in the legal literature, jurisprudence, law-making process. The study and the presentation of the information obtained as a result of the study, scientific literature and practical materials, involves the development of students as the oral speech skills and abilities in a clear written statement of the material.
The main forms of independent work of students are:

1. The study of theoretical material in extracurricular environment in preparation for the classroom training (seminars and workshops), the exam, when writing separate and dissertations.

2. Preparation of essays on specific themes of the program of the relevant discipline. The purpose of writing essays is to impart skills to students independent work on literary and legal sources, published jurisprudence in order based on their analysis and generalization of students can draw their own conclusions of theoretical and practical nature, justifying them accordingly. Themes of abstracts selected student plans seminars and workshops. Requirements for registration of abstracts contained in the educational complex.

In contrast to the theoretical seminars, during which the student acquires, in particular, express their skills and presentation  opinions of other authors orally, writing essays give him better skills to do the same, but in writing, legally competent language and in good style.

Abstracts, which should carry out the students should be scientific and problematic nature. In writing this essay the student must study and summarize the published opinions on a specific, controversial in theory, the issue (problem) for the study of the topic, to speak on the issue (problem) own point of view it with an appropriate justification. When writing student scientific abstracts problem they tend to be advised by a teacher and literature to be studied.

3. Writing examinations to determine the degree of assimilation of the material being studied. Examination is given on the subject has been studied. The control work is carried out and shall be a teacher.

Independent work of students should be organized taking into account the time the study of a topic on the curriculum. Jobs student in classroom and during extracurricular conditions on the issue should be the same as much as possible.
Independent work specified in paragraphs 2-3 can be made specific student or all students, at the discretion of the teacher with the practical necessity and complexity of the material. It should be noted that the standards set the maximum amount of student workload, including all kinds of his classroom and extracurricular (self) training activities. In this regard, the teacher should provide the student with sufficient time to perform some additional tasks, possibly with the release of the student prepare for the challenges and the issues put on the seminars and workshops.

The main form of control over the independent work of students are seminars and the exam at the end of the study course.

In summing up the independent work of the teacher should focus on the analysis and evaluation of the best works, the analysis of deficiencies. At the suggestion of a teacher student can explain the content of his written work done in seminars.
