State
of the speed salivation of orthopedic
patients with the syndrome of intolerance to acrylic plastics
One of the most important problems in
modern prosthodontics is the problem of intolerance of materials used in
prosthetics: in particular plastics. We
studied the performance rate of
salivation patiens. Moreover , after the proshtetic group in experiment the
salivation rate increased by 19,4%.
The nubmer of patients,
which use dental prosthesis made of acrylic plastic increases , that testified by increase of life expectancy and wide development of pathology of hard
tissues , and also peridont - the main
cause of teeth loss.
Among the may causes of
intolerance the main is toxico-
chemical and allergical influence, which caused the general and local pathological reactions. For estimation this
reactions developed new consist of
acrylic plastic and the methods of polymerisation.
The quanity of patients who
used dentures from acrylic plastic is continuosly growing due to an increase in
life expectancy of people and wide spread pathology of the hard tissues of the
teeth and peridontal – the main cause of tooth loss.
Simultaneously with the
increase in the number of people using dental prostheses, an increasing number
of patients who can not use them for various reasons.
The intolerance refers to unpleasant sensations in the
mouth, forcing the patient to give up use the plastic prosthesis or use them
briefly. Patients complain of a print phenomenon paresthesia, pain and dryness
in the
lining of the prosthetic bed, and its focal and diffuse inflammation.
Matherials and methods
Comprehensive evalution and
treatment of patients in need of orthopedic treatment with the use removable
plate dentures, conducted at the Department of Proshtetic Dentistry Medical
Center CSMU. Were examined 45 patients(including women 23; men – 22), which
were established partial dentures of material “Ftorax”.These patients were
treatment group(aged 45-75 years).
The composition of the control
group consisted of 40 patients between the ages of 25-65 years.
In the labaratory
determined the consist of free monomer
in plastmas, which is main cause of development of intolerance. The reaction of
the body and tissues in generally
depend from indexes of metabolism, the condition of microcirculation and immune status .
For estimation of
functional condition of tissues of maxillofacial area used the indexes of
salivation rate, because of that the salivary glands – good object for
identification of general pathology.
Collection of
saliva was performed in the morning
after 2-3 hours after ingestion, using centrifuge tubes dimensional by spitting
for 5 minutes ( not stimulated saliva).
After centrifugation , the measured amount of saliva. Salivation rate expressed
in ml/min.
Results of investigation
In the group of healthy subjects (control
group) rate of speed salivation was 0,67±0,028 ml/min. After installation the
remouvable plate dentures of acrylates, salivation rate increased by 19,4
%(P<0,05) and amounted to 0,80±0,035 ml/min .
From established data is
shown that the syndrome of intolerance characterized by sunjective complaints
of the patients about the increase of salivation and objective indexes.
Conclusion
1.
Noticed, that
in many cases after the installation of
removable plate dentures made of acrylic plastic developed syndrome of intolerance.
2.
The syndrome
of intolerance of acrylic plastic accompanied by increase of indexes of
salivation rate by 19,4 %.
