Annotation:
The article is concerned with studying of ethnic biases of the students of
pedagogical specialties. The author points out an influence of ethnic biases on
the quality of interethnic communication of the students in multicultural
environments. Based on the research the author makes conclusions.
Key words: Multiethnic
environments, ethnic biases, interethnic communication.
I. Introduction.
Teaching profession refers to a group of professions, the subject of which is
another person. It refers both to transforming class and to a class of managing
professions simultaneously. Having as its objective the establishment and
transformation of the individual, the teacher has to manage the process of
intellectual, emotional and physical development, also the formation of the
inner world of man. This is complicated by the fact that human activities over
the last century have become global.
Despite the lack
of heated interethnic conflicts in the country, there are problems with finding
the model of national identity, the solution of the language problem and the
optimization of inter-ethnic relations in multiethnic environment.
Multiethnic environment - it's a way of
existence, operation and communication between people of different nations and
nationalities in a specific social space and time, in certain specific
historical and geographical conditions that form a person as the subject of
ethnic identity and culture, through which it assigns human culture [1].
One of the tasks
of the teacher today is the problem of the formation of international
communication skills. International
communication is a kind of social communication due to the main areas of
interaction between the people - the economy, politics, science, culture, and
language. The future teacher should gradually, in the practice of real
communication, to discover the similarities and differences with other people
[2].
There are some
images of the representatives of different nations that only to a certain
extent can describe their some psychological traits and specific relationship
to each other. On the one hand, they are interesting and didactic, and on the
other, they are the stereotypes in the views of people as a result of
communication and relationships with them in certain circumstances.
Very often, these
biases do not always correspond exactly , and sometimes distort reality, as
they reflect the feelings and attitudes of those who perceive people of other
nations. But in all cases they are the result of interethnic relations, it
means contacts and relations between people of different ethnic communities,
without which there can be no humanity.
Formation of bias
is depend significantly on the specific socio-historical situation. People
perceive and experience other peoples’ customs, traditions, behaviors, primarily
through the prism of their own customs, the traditions in which they brought
up.
Real or imagined
differences are elevated to superior quality and converted into a hostile
psychological attitude towards any ethnic group, setting, that divides people
psychologically, and then theoretically.
Thus, ethnic biases - social - perceptual
indicator of interethnic relations, one of the manifestations of emotional
personality assessments aimed at the person of a particular ethnic group, take
precedents of direct interaction [3].
II. Statement of the problem. Multiethnic collegiate is characterized by variety of forms of
interpersonal relations (culture, traditions, language), the risk of
cross-cultural conflict, language development. Such unique multicultural environment
of the students has the necessary conditions for studying ethnic biases,
improving the quality of interethnical communication and the factors reducing
ethnic biases of the students from different ethnic groups.
The aim of our
research: studying of ethnic biases of students of Kazakh, Russian, Korean,
Tatar ethnic groups in the faculty. The objects of the research were ethnic
biases. The subject of the research - ethnic biases in different ethnic groups
of the students of pedagogical specialties.
III. Results.
We conducted a study aimed at studying ethnic biases of the students. The
survey was conducted among the students of 2-4 courses, mostly among female.
The survey was conducted in the form of a questionnaire.
According to the
results of the survey can be seen following brief generalization images of the
ethnic groups.
The students of
other ethnic groups rank Kazakh ethnic group mostly to the following types:
hospitable, flexible, active, intelligent, modest, independent, liberated,
cooperating. Students also think that students of Kazakh ethnic groups are
cheerful. Among the negative qualities
they distinguish laziness.
The students of
Russian ethnic groups are ranked by the other students to the following types:
elective, peaceful, practical, hard-working, intelligent and adoptive. Among
the negative qualities distinguish miserliness.
Representatives
of the Korean ethnic group described as motivated, proud, principled,
intelligent, stubborn. As a negative quality they distinguish self -confidence.
Tatar ethnic
group is characterized by the following qualities: bold, with a sense of humor,
friendly, outgoing. Among the negative qualities distinguished: cunning.
In general we can
say that most of the students of the survey treat other students of different
ethnic groups peacefully, some neutral. There weren’t any negative replies.
Also, was studied
the issue of changing of the ethnic biases of the students in the joint
educational and practical activity. According to the result of the survey is
seen the reduction of the ethnic biases from course to course.
IV. Conclusions.
The study led to the following conclusions.
Ethnic biases of
the students have national and gender differences. In multiethnic groups in the
learning process of students, there is a decrease of negative ethnic biases.
Overcoming of the
ethnic biases is possible in the following conditions: positive ethnic
identity, multilingual person, common cross-cultural zones, a presence of
common purpose in the course of joint activity.
In order to
reduce the ethnic biases against the students of other ethnic groups should be
done work about the using of ethno-psychological training in the educational
process of high school.
