Domestic violence against juveniles is a multi-faceted phenomenon that depends on many factors. However, motivation is definitely a centerpiece for commission of this type of crime. Thus, we obviously need to study greed motivations that influence the frequent incidence of domestic violence against juveniles in the family. In order to prevent the violent crimes committed against juveniles in the family, it is crucial to find out why the offenders commit these crimes, and how to influence their behavior change effectively.

In many cases, the suspect do not recognize the real motivations of these crimes relevantly at the stage of preparation and committing the criminal action; usually intentions often reveal themselves only after such criminal action has already been committed or have not recognized at all.

Motivation gives an idea of progressing of criminogenic properties, their persistence or the possibility to change in positive way the personality of the criminal.

It should be stressed that in cases of quarrel arising from family conflict when someone else of extended family stands up for the victim, the motivation of offender is transferred to third person who came into conflict.

The study of this issue identified a wide range of motives and reasons that pushed a person to commit a crime.

As a result, dependence of the personality type of offender is defined in correspondence to outstanding characteristics of motivation of criminal behavior.

Thus, while classifying the personality of criminal under the named criteria, the following types of the individuality of offenders that committing the crimes of domestic violence against juveniles: 1) aggressively-violent and greedy action; 2) crimes of greedy orientation; 3) infringement, causing the failure to perform or improper performance of duties on upbringing the children.

The first group includes violent crimes committed on the grounds of self-assertion: the desire to dominate, the desire of offender to make the victim and other family members conforming the orders, as well as take out anger on the victim arisen in the result of conflicts with other family members.

The most relevant moral and psychological feature of personality of the offender under first type (whose who committing aggressively violent and greedy actions) is an extreme self-centeredness, in which all his behavior is subject to primitive desires and inclinations, including impulsive.

Such a person has evident disregard of interests of others, cruelty, lack of compassion, which may indicate a difficult childhood.

Dr. Y.M.Antonyan explains the commission of violent crimes against juveniles by the presence of painful memories and feelings associated with childhood of criminal himself. The study results outline that experience, which occurred in early childhood, which was emotionally saturated and traumatic, can be "stuck" in the mind, and for many years after motivate criminal behavior. The major motivation factor that leading to violent crimes committed against juveniles is offender’s desire to eliminate the traumatic memories of his own childhood.

When violence is used by criminal to achieve the desired from behavior of the juvenile, parents usually intend to educate and discipline the child, to correct any undesirable, from their point of view, character qualities or personal characteristics of the minor. Such parental relationship is characterized by excessive insistence, severity, threats and coercion that causes children to feel the fear and insecurity.

The second group is represented by violent crimes committed with greed motivation such as desire to acquire the property or real estate rights of the victim juvenile, the desire to get rid of the need to pay for child support (alimony payments), the desire to force out the juvenile from living place.

In most cases, the abovementioned greed crimes are carefully prepared for. The goal of the aggressor is to obtain illegally property for personal use. Own material benefit for offender is prevailing the family values.

The personality of the offender who commits crimes of greed orientation (second type as mentioned), is characterized by such features as the desire for money-making, a tendency to loose way of life, egoism.

The third group includes violent crimes motivated by a desire to get rid of the juvenile victim and the concerns related to the obligations: to care for, educate, take responsibility for major decisions, and so on.

For persons belonging to this third typological group, the motivation of their criminal behavior is arising from the legal nihilism and infantilism. The commission of illegal actions of greed motivation on avoiding to fulfill their civil, family, and social responsibilities characterizes them. Individuals in this group do not perform responsibilities for the upbringing of children, avoiding payments for the living needs of children. Unfortunately, such obsessive desire to get rid of the debt burden is leading to much serious crimes committed against offender’s own children.

Children abuse is most often observed in families at risk, where violence against children has a "natural" determinants due to the specific characteristics of the families themselves: poor economic situation, low parental education, deviant and criminal behavior of family members, lacking one parent, the presence of mental illness in the family, and so on. Thus, the analysis of greed motives arising from the commission of crimes against juveniles in the family leads to the conclusion that they are expressed in social-ethical, demographic, psychological, moral, ethical, cultural, political, economic and other conditions of society that influence the occurrence of violence against juveniles in the family.

Stress conditions of parents, quarrel and tensions between husband and wife, irritability and anxiety of family members, frequent divorces and breaks of relationships - all this factors lead to increased child's disobedience resulting in applying much more severe methods for educating him.
