Abstract: At present the available online & off-line teaching
and learning courses in English are widely used at the academic lessons which
gives students great possibilities in creative their thinking skills while
teaching students English. Online and off-line English is the best way to teach
students to comprehend and communicate professional English. This article is
based on the study of a number of works done on using online and off-line
technologies for language learning.
Keywords: online teaching, off-line learning, creative learning, creative
skills, technology, communicate, comprehend.
I. Introduction. The actuality of
the article is that the main idea of the education is based on implementary new
media to develop students creative abilities and skills, introducing more
flexible education and preparing students for real life.
In the
methodological literature there are many works devoted to the online methods of
teaching English, such as Bakia M., Davis V., Larsen-Freeman
D., Means B., Murphy R., ToyamaY., and
Jonesb K. and others.
II. Formulation of
the problem. The task of the article is to reveal the ways of using online and off-line
methods of teaching English.
III. Results. The analysis of the
investigation showed that nowadays online methods are
considered to be one of the most effective and popular methods of teaching foreign
languages in the world. They allow to develop spoken
English which is the bases of communication and mutual understanding people in
all spheres of our life.
The analysis of the
methodological resources [1, 2, 3, 4] showed that online lessons allow students
to break the language barrier while talking with the teachers, the carriers of
the native language from the USA, Canada and Britain. There are language online
clubs which can be visited by any person. The topics of the online lessons in
such clubs are talkative phrases and expressions.
According to the analysis of
the articles devoted to the Skype online training [3,4,6] we can surely say
that another effective method of using online lessons is grammatical learning
new words. We can find from 300 to 600 Grammar tests for different levels of
grammar for conducting online English lessons in different educational
organizations, which also provide their students with watching video materials
and reading books in the original language with vocabulary and exercises.
Students who are
using English online and off-line lessons conducted in different countries
recognize many benefits of this methodology. First, it emphasizes the role of
the training of hearing. Analysing unknown words and sentences, learners will
remember the audio link between words and whole phrases. Second, when they
print a proposal at the hearing, they caught the common meaning of the phrase,
and then select the correct grammatical construction and, finally, keep in
their mind how the given words are written correctly. Third, the learners
remember the whole semantic clichés in the context of their possible
use.[1,5,6]
As for the using
online technologies in the National University of Pharmacy and Belgorod State
University when teaching English we can absolutely underline that English
online and off-line courses are the best way to improve your lexical
vocabulary, grammar knowledge and skills to listen and understand native
English. They are based on the introduction of new words, grammar constructions,
watching video films, episodes, where students can hear the given and explained
vocabulary and the given grammar constructions in the everyday English speech.
After watching video material, the students have a wonderful opportunity to do
self-assessment work doing lexical and grammar exercises and check themselves
using keys after the tasks. The lessons are conducted during the break and last
about 30 minutes every day. The teaching staff of the Universities and students
can have a good practice every day.
Online English
teaching course in our Universities gives a strong bases and practice as for
developing linguistic intuition. After watching our online lessons learners
needn’t tutorials. They can continue to enrich their knowledge of the English
language reading English books, listening to English audio or watching English
movies.
IV. Conclusions. So, as we see, using online and off-line
lessons of teaching English is an effective method of language learning. This
method of teaching is actual nowadays. It will play a key role in training and
developing individual creative abilities and potential of the students in the
nearest future.
