Organization
of self-study work of the students
as
the way of optimizing training process
Self-study is an integral and important form of
learning process. The aim of self-study is the formation of student’s knowledge
and skills as the basic professional competences aimed at independent creative
solution of technical and scientific problems arising in the practice of the
future specialist. Both the purpose and the means of education, the relevance
of the search methods and the ways of effective management of this process is
extremely high due to the student’s self-study work. Urgency of the management
student’s self-study work is obvious. Self-study is an important component of
the educational process, in which there is a formation of skills, abilities and
knowledge, and, further, provides students with the knowledge techniques of
cognitive activity, interest in creative work and, ultimately, the ability to
solve technical and scientific problems. It was in the course of self-study can
show motivation, determination, self-organization, self-reliance, self-control,
and other personal characteristics of the student. In this connection,
planning, organization and implementation of a student in the absence of a
teacher is important to student learning in college. The learning process
should be organized so that the student has learned not only the content of the
subjects taught, but also ways of acquiring knowledge. Organization of
self-study work of the students assumes a flexible system which helps to
achieve the use of network capacity. The advantages of using computer
technology in the organization of self-study work include the ability to
provide individualization and differentiation of instruction, the expansion of
the materials used by providing access to distributed resources (including
remote, low-circulation, rare materials, etc.), stimulating activity,
motivating the students during the development of educational material, the
intensification of the learning process, the convenience and clarity of presentation,
ease of travel used to quickly find the information and modeling of processes
and phenomena, display them in a dynamic, growing educational performance. The
practical result of the self-study work of the students is the development of
the theoretical material, reinforce knowledge of theoretical material through
the use of the necessary tools in a practical way, the application of the
knowledge and skills to analyze the situation and make the right decision, the
application of the knowledge and skills to create their own position.
The success of self-study work is determined by the
level of preparation of the students. Self study suggests the maximum activity
of the students in various aspects: the organization of intellectual work,
searching for information, the desire to make knowledge beliefs. Psychological
conditions of individual work of students are in their academic excellence,
positive attitude to it, interest and enthusiasm for the subject, understanding
that with proper organization of independent work to acquire skills and
experience creativity.
The main difficulty is the need of self-organization.
Many students have great difficulties related to the lack of skills of
analysis, note-taking, working with primary sources, the ability to clearly
express their thoughts, plan their time, take into account the individual
characteristics of their mental function and their physiological capabilities,
the almost complete lack of psychological readiness to work independently,
ignorance of the general rules of its organization.
Self-study is meant not only to master every discipline, but
also to develop skills of self-study work in the scientific and professional
work, the ability to take responsibility, to solve the problem, to find
constructive solutions, to escape from crisis. According to the new educational
paradigm, regardless of specialization and the nature of any budding
professional should possess the fundamental knowledge, professional skills and
abilities of its activity profile, experience and creative research to address
new challenges, experiences and social evaluation. The latter two of education
was formed in self-study. Independent work completed for all of the other types
of academic work. In addition, independent study has educational value: it
creates independence, not only as a set of skills, but also as a character
trait, which plays an important role in the personality structure of modern
specialists of high qualification.
Modern technologies of development of individual
creative thinking are supported by self-study. Criteria of quality university
education radically change, instead of the amount of knowledge education is
intended to develop the ability to self-learning, creative thinking, to support
innovative behavior and motivational personality structure, designed to find
adequate responses to the challenges of rapidly changing economic, social,
cultural and political environment responsibly construct the social world. The
problem is relevant to the modern university as an orientation toward an active
and independent learning activities of students which becomes the basis for the
preparation of modern professionals. Today the «cognitive independence» has
become the subject of research of a number of authors (V.F. Torosiyan),
due to the fact that it is the quality of the integrated personality, which is
characterized by the need and ability of students in the study and practice to
master the knowledge and techniques activities, willingness to solve production
problems, the ability to determine the purpose of the activity, correct it, and
to use the acquired knowledge and techniques of cognitive activity for
self-education and professional activities.
