Data of indexes of periodontal
destruction in orthopedic patients having bridges based on implants
In the study of periodontal standard methods
(survey, examination instrumental studies, radiography) often used an index
evaluation system, which allows to give a comprehensive assessment of
periodontal disease. Indexes are normally not require sophisticated
diagnostics, it based on an assessment of easily identifiable changes mouth.
Cytomorphometry is
cytology section, which is based on a quantitative, morphometric evaluation of
cell populations in cytograms. This method allows the correlation relationship
between required cytomorphometric indicators - index destruction and
inflammatory and destructive index, the character and severity of the
pathological process in the developing tissues studied.
Index sample are widely
used in dental practice, because the measurement results help the doctor
determine the strategy and tactics of further action.
Thus, the aim of our
study was to monitor the cellular elements cytomorphometric periodontal after
installing bridges relying on implants inorthopedic patients.
Methods of
investigation
Were examined 26 people of
both sexes, requiring orthopedic treatment using bridges.
Collection of material for
the study was carried out on 1, 3,6,12 months after prosthesis.
Exploring the
cytograms by gums and mathematical
processing of the data was performed by the method of A. Grigoryan.
Application cytomorphometric method indicate for early
inflammatory complications in the mucosa of the gums, determining the character
and severity of the inflammatory process and evaluate the effectiveness of
hygiene and preventive measures.
Cytomorphometric method of
research was carried out on prints gum taken from the lingual or buccal surface
in the area adjoining it to the implant neck (zone interface), employe support
for the prosthesis. Prints were collected from the gingival sulcus, after 4 (±
1) hours after brushing.
For prints used target -
sphenoid fragment gum - eraser to the size of its narrowest part of no more
than I mm. Targets were stored in Petri dish, filled with 50% ethanol solution.
Before taking the gum target prints were dried with an air jet from the air gun
is then readily introduced into the gingival sulcus tightly pressed to the
inner cheek □ implant surface, and a symmetric outer portion gums.
Prints were applied to skim
slide. Dried and stained by the method of Romanovsky-Giemsa.
Then the preparation was
studied under a microscope at high magnification, ocular X10 (X20) and X40 .
Field selection is
arbitrary, but there should be at least 3. Further, for calculation of the index
determines the amount of epithelial cells(regardless of their degree of
maturity) and the number of neutrophils in the field of view.
The index has the following
range of values:12,09-15,03 - norm; 15,04-22,05 - weak
inflammation of expression, 22,06 and more - moderately and strongly marked
inflammation. Noted that gingival and prints normally present fagir cells, but
the ratio in inflammatory processes of epithelial cells and connective tissue
changes sharply upward connective.
During the analyzing the
performance index cytomorphological periodontal destruction in the control
group was 12,53 ± 0,26 conv.
By 1 month after the
installation of bridges implant there is a slight and not statistically
significant bearing the character (P> 0.05) increase in the index
periodontal destruction by 8.8%, which was 13,64 ± 0,52 conv
By 3 months after the current
orthopedic treatment index periodontal destruction was 13,12 ± 0,41 conv ,
which was 4.7% ( P> 0.05 ) higher than the control .
In long-term follow 6-12
months, the index of periodontal destruction as close to the benchmarks and was
12,86 ± 0,33 conv.
Conclusions
The carring out the analysis
cytobiochemical study allowed to conclude that the installation of bridges
(made of acrylates ) implant has no significant changes in the periodontal tan
patients , as evidenced by the performance index periodontal destruction .
