INFORMATION COMPUTER TECHNOLOGIES IN TECHNICAL HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTION

Updating of the content of education by introduction of the new state educational standard is a large-scale pedagogical and social problem today. For training of the competitive expert who has to be demanded in labor market, new approaches to training, search of new technologies of training, improvement of information support of educational process are required. In these conditions education informatization – development by educational institutions of methodology and practice of development of using of the new information technologies, the computer equipment and technology becomes one of the priority directions.

Realization of the model of informatization of the education in technical higher education institution has to go in three main directions:

1. Increasing of the information culture of teachers and students, their training at the high professional level to the information computer technologies (ICT), focused on future professional activity of graduates.

2. Introduction of ICT in management of educational process, including electronic document flow.

3. Transition to the new educational technologies based on widespread introduction of ICT in all forms of teaching and educational processes.

Respectively, the major ability which the student in higher education institution has to gain is the ability to study, which radically will affect its professional formation and defines its opportunities in postgraduate continuous education.

In the process of training the student of technical higher education institution has to seize information competence which can be defined as the ability and readiness to work with information from various sources, to accumulate, process and analyze the received information, to form databases. Modern means of information technologies can be considered in several meanings: first, as object of studying; secondly, as a means of learning; thirdly, as means of professional activity; fourthly, as way of the organization of professional activity.

The competitive specialist of a technical profile has to be guided well in modern means of information technologies therefore an obligatory subject for studying is the informatics.

Using of information technologies in the modern technical higher education institution as a tutorial is very widespread. Specialized software packages allow to carry out laboratory works in the virtual mode, to create drawings, to build schedules with use of the program MS Excel, Corel Draw, AutoCad, Photoshop, to hold intermediate and total testing, and use of automated control systems on modern productions demands from the graduate of technical higher education institution of excellent knowledge of the computer equipment and specialized software products of different producers.

Modern information technologies in the higher technical education are provided by the solution of the following tasks: individualization and intensification of educational process; orientation to the developing, advancing education with development of perspective means, methods and technologies of training; mastering means of information technologies at the necessary level for competitiveness of the expert; training of students for professional activity in the conditions of information society; increase of professional competence of future experts.

On many specialties of a technical profile the end-to-end computer preparation is carried out. In particular students of technical specialties begin computer preparation in the 1st and the 2nd semester with studying of the course "Informatics", and discipline "Computer graphics", "Bases of computer technologies", "The electronic government", "Computer viruses and fight against them" and "The Internet - technologies" deepen its preparation.

Studying disciplines of the specialty, students with use of modern systems of ICT perform term papers and diploma projects.

In network computer classes of the Department “Information Technologies” modern computer facilities, network adaptive system of testing, multimedia projectors, electronic textbooks, materials of Web-conferences and the Internet are used.

Use of dynamically changing information technologies in training demands certain competences, knowledge and skills not only from students, but also from the teacher.

Information and communication technologies can be used in training of listeners in several ways. In the simplest case a real educational process goes on conventional technologies, and information technologies are applied only to intermediate control of students’ knowledge in the form of testing.

Effective form of use of ICT in educational process is application of the electronic educational and methodical complexes (EEMC) including theoretical material, demonstration material for a practical training, the syllabus and tests allowing to control the level of mastering material by the listener.

The purpose of development of EEMC – to increase the quality of students training, to make information more available, using new information technologies, to increase digestion of material due to attractive interactive data representation form and use of multimedia applications.

Thanks to introduction of the EUMK techno and information resource in educational process it was succeeded to provide increasing availability of information, speed of the appeal to the necessary section, and to make data representation form more convenient and comfortable that increases students’ motivation to training.

One more perspective and much demanded form of education with application of ICT are network educational resources. This form can be applied as addition to traditional educational process and is of great importance in cases when for high-quality assimilation of volume of the training material provided by GOST there are no classroom classes in the curriculum, and also for the listeners getting an education remotely.

Today it is impossible to provide a high level of quality of education, applying only traditional methods of teaching. Use of the effective learning technologies based on application of information and telecommunication technologies allows to prepare more competitive experts.

The saved-up experience of application of information technologies in educational process in various options allows to speak about certain competitive advantages of similar forms of the organization of educational process in technical higher education institution: intensity of educational process increases; listeners have an additional motivation to educational activity; learning materials are available at any time; there is a possibility of self-checking of extent of digestion of material on each subject; as a result, quality of the provided educational services increases.

Use of information computer technologies in the higher technical education at this stage is necessary for improvement of quality of education and competitiveness of future experts.
