Innovative
teaching methods
Education
is a strategic basis of the development of individuals, society, nation, state,
and a key to a successful future. Transformation of post-industrial society in
the global informative based not only on knowledge, but also on the competence
of specialists, significantly actualized the problem of innovative approaches
to educational processes. As a result, it puts forward very high requirements
to the system of education in modern conditions: it must train professionals to
live and work in a wide, dynamic, rapidly changing world, where custom tasks,
which solution presupposes skills to build and analyze their own actions,
constantly arise before man. To achieve a target goal it is necessary to make a
special emphasis on providing innovative nature of the education system in
accordance with the socio-economic challenges and innovative nature of the
economy [1]. Innovative methods of preparation of students
in higher education hold the key position in such system, and these methods
will be directly involved in the formation and implementation of investment and
innovation policy in the future.
The
complexity and diversity of the process note in modern scientific literature,
dedicated to the problems of management of innovative processes in educational
activities.
Particular
attention is focused on the fact that the innovative approach of teaching
students should be systematic and should cover all aspects of the educational
work in preparing future professionals, however, it should be reviewed
theoretical and practical approaches to the content of education, professional
and pedagogical training of teachers, development of new technologies and
teaching methods. Marked problems are actively exploring foreign researchers
such as John Martin, L. Swanson, I. Lerner, M. Skatkin, V. Bespalko, V.
Slastenin, O. Pehota, S. Sysoev and others. However, most of the researches are
aimed at secondary schools, but higher schools unfairly left without attention
of domestic scientists. And the works, that focus on consideration of the
original features of innovative methods of teaching students, as well as
identifying the advantages and prospects of the use of various innovative forms
of teaching, are not so much.
As known,
the basis of innovative educational technologies used in the educational
process should be the social order, the professional interests of future
specialists, taking into account individual, personal characteristics of
students [2]. Therefore, the application of innovative forms and methods for
training in higher education must be organically combined with a pragmatic
understanding of goals and objectives of education and professional training.
In modern psychological and pedagogical literature is noted that innovative
methods are reflected in many learning technology aimed at the development and
improvement of the educational process and training for professional work in
various spheres of life in modern society. [3] It creates the conditions for
the formation and consolidation of professional knowledge and skills of the
students, contributes to the development of professional qualities of the
future specialist. Using innovative teaching methods in learning process helps
to overcome stereotypes in the teaching of different disciplines, new
approaches to professional situations, the development of creative abilities of
students.
Effective
forms of educational work to introduce in the educational process of innovation
processes and the formation of the key professional competencies of future
professionals are active use of various forms
and methods of training: the creation of projects, preparation of public speech,
professional discussion of important issues, cooperative learning, the creation
of problematic situations, training of professional directed videos and
presentations, etc. The transition from the informative explanatory education
to the active innovation associated with the use of new computer and a variety
of information technologies, electronic textbooks, videos in the educational
process, provides a free search activity, and involves the development and
personal orientation [5]. For this reason, various innovative methods of
teaching students may be noted today, in particular, it is problematic and play
technology, technologies of collective and group activity, simulation of active
learning methods, analysis method of active training, project method,
cooperative learning, creative learning, innovation educational project
activities, press conference lectures, conversation lectures, visualization
lectures, debates, etc.
Consider some of the presented methods in
more detail.
Various games are widely presented in the
game
simulation: business, qualification, organizational activity,
innovation, reflexive games to relieve stress and the formation of innovative
thinking, search and approbation, etc. [4]. The productive transforming activity of
students dominates when business games are used. In particular, the
multiplicity and alternative solutions are characteristic of educational games
from which it is necessary to make a rational choice. Today business games for
educational purposes are widely used in universities, mainly among older years
for learning special subjects, especially that related to the economy,
organization and management, accounting, law and new forms of management in
market conditions.
Innovative
educational project activity is an effective
form of organization of educational process aimed at the individual development
of cognitive interests and creative abilities of students. This method involves
the mastery of presentation technique of various creative works (reports,
reviews, abstracts, professionally oriented reports). The meaning and purpose
of pedagogical innovation is the implementation of a new vision of teaching
methodology, involving new methods, technologies, multimedia learning tools for
the development of the personality of the future specialist.
Project
method refers to research. Development of cognitive skills
of students, abilities to independently construct their knowledge to orientate the information space, the development of
critical thinking and creativity are the basis of this method [3]. Project
method is focused on independent activities of students - individual, pair and
group that students perform during a certain period of time. This method is
organically combined with a group approach of education. Project method always
assumes the solution of some problem, which, on the one hand, involves using of
various methods and means of training, and, on the other hand, integration of
knowledge and skills from different fields of science, engineering, technology
and creative work.
Creative
learning involves free access of each
student to the Internet resources and is based on the following principles:
• the
prospective educational product, that will be created by students, is the basis
for creative learning;
• the compliance
of external educational product of student with his/her domestic needs;
• the
student's individual educational trajectory in the educational space;
•
Interactive sessions using telecommunications;
• open
communication in relation to the student created educational products.
Thus, to
sum up, it can be noted that the basis of innovative teaching methods of
students are active methods that help to form a creative, innovative approach
to the understanding of professional activities, develop independent thinking,
the ability to make optimal decisions under certain circumstances. As practice
shows, the use of innovative methods in the field of technical oriented
education is a prerequisite for the preparation of highly qualified
specialists. Using a variety of methods and techniques of active learning stirs
students' interest to the most educational and cognitive activity that allows
you to create an atmosphere of motivated, creative learning and simultaneously
solve a range of academic, educational, developmental tasks.
