Perfection the level of pedagogical skills in the conditions of extension courses

In part, changes of the paradigm of education of students caused the innovation process that has acquired considerable spreading in high educational institutions. Searching new ways of problem solutions has leaded to changes of the content (programs) and learning techniques, demanding more requirements to the teacher. The teacher must be competitive, self-dependent, permanently advancing personality who has high professional and creative potential in alternativeness of education. He must possess the flexibility of pedagogical thinking, critical attitude to previous experience and must have sufficient psychological and pedagogical training; a key feature of such personality is the necessity for permanent renovation of knowledge and acquiring new professional skills.

The dynamics of modern life sharpened the problems of staff professional development. Researchers’ issues based on the idea that the education should never stop, people must permanently acquire new and comprehensive knowledge, as the development of society is a prerequisite necessity to renew knowledge.

Highly qualified professionals in market conditions are, first of all, motivated people with their own needs, interests, and beliefs. In order to train such specialist a professional teacher should have high level of education and high professionalism. Basic indexes of teachers’ effectiveness is a successful mastery of all students’ knowledge of their chosen major, their desire to perfect professional skills, creativity and rationalization activity, the ability to analyze production and public relations.

The demand of professional development ensues from the necessity to overcome such existing lacks as formalism, mainly informative training in practice. Psychological and pedagogical training for teachers become a special significance for pedagogical activity, professional development and competitiveness in labor market.

The problem of selecting professional development courses for teachers’ demands and considers basic trends of science development and methods of professional schools; content correspondence of the development courses for the technical disciplines teachers relying on psychological pedagogical amplifying of the needs of these teachers. It worth noting the escalating of this problem in social and scientific-technological progress all over the world, when the new maintenance of education, new forms of teaching implemented in the practice works of the universities. There is a necessity to be market-oriented in educational services.

On the basis of Kazakh National Agrarian University the department of «Professional Education» has conducted professional development courses by teachers: E. A. Amanbayeva, N. N. Zhaksylykova, R. T. Kaimova, G.S. Kudebayeva, A.A. Tlenbayeva.

  

 

The course «Innovative technologies in teaching with the basics of pedagogy and psychology» in order to improve the pedagogical skills of teachers KazNAU consisted of three parts:

I part - «Innovation techniques».  The main issues that examined in this part are: modern educational technologies in professional education; use of information technologies in educational process, technologies of problem teaching, test control technology, the « portfolio » technology.

II part – «Pedagogy».  The main issues that examined in this part are: complete pedagogical process as a form of education; the substance of the process of education; methods, forms of study in higher school; the effectiveness of the educational process.

III part – « Psychology».  The main issues that examined in this part are: the subject and tasks of psychology and ethics of business communication; psychology of communication; business communication in the workgroup; etiquette and culture of behavior businessman; debate, discussion, polemics; the image of the businessman; the problems of interpersonal relationships, regularity of the basic psychological processes and properties of personality have an influence on the success of the teaching.

As can be seen from the program, a course on psychological and pedagogical unit is calculated for 72 hours, and covers the questions of pedagogics of the higher school, psychology of business terms, innovative technologies.

 

   

 The main objectives of the course are the formation of cognitive interest and stable motives of studying pedagogics and psychology, mastering the skills of productive pedagogical activity, diagnosis and perfection of pedagogical level. In this course a considerable place devote to the formation of outward appearance of the teacher, his attraction, confidence and organization.

In order to analyze the efficiency and effectiveness of teaching on the courses, we conducted a survey among students (55 people). On the proposed question, «Will the acquired knowledge is useful for the perfection of the educational process in professional activity? », a positive response gave 93% of the 55 interviewed students.

We defined terms in correspondence to the maintenance of training forms and methods, which are also important step for the successful implementation of skills development. Forms and methods of training are not constant, but vary depending on the type and content of the training, the specifics of the contingent of students, lecturing staff capabilities, etc.

It is necessary to use such forms and methods of teaching, which would realize a complex of objectives through various forms of teaching activities on the extension courses.

Construction of training system is an important psychological and pedagogical condition. It must produce the motives for the development of creative activity, where the listener is considered as a person in terms of pedagogy and psychology.

Pedagogical orientation is implemented through the formation of teacher’s needs for raising the qualification level self-development, the general cultural and professional self-education in the system of teaching. It also solves the problem of choosing the optimal content of extension courses. The effectiveness of such courses is determined by the content, forms and methods of teaching students, and how they meet the requirements of scientific and technological progress in line with modern psychological and pedagogical foundations of learning.

Contemporary reality confronts the problem of teacher renewal and supplements their knowledge and skills in a wide range of issues. The development of market relations in society, education and economy requires changes in the nature and content of the educational activities, mastering the basics of new elementary knowledge areas: technology, economics, politics, law, psychology, etc. All these make teachers be aware of his or her incompliance to the demands of the market and be willing to meet new professional skills requirements.

System of professional development training should help to improve the professional qualities of the teacher.

The goals of training are determined by the creation of set of psychological, pedagogical and social conditions that promote the efficiency of teachers training.
