Trinity of languages in
Kazakhstan
Learning a foreign language is not an
easy thing. It is a long and slow process that takes a lot of time and efforts.
Nowadays it is especially important to know foreign languages. Some people
learn languages because they need them for their work, others travel abroad,
for the third studying languages is a hobby. Everyone, who knows foreign
languages can speak to people from other countries, read foreign writers in the
original, which makes your outlook wider. It is not surprising that many
intellectuals and well-educated people are polyglots. Nowadays English has
become the world's most important language in politics, science, trade and
cultural relations. To know English today is absolutely necessary for every
educated person, for every good specialist. The English language is a wonderful
language. It is the language of the great literature. It is the language of
William Shakespeare, Jonathan Swift, Walter Scott, and Charles Dickens. The
great German poet Goethe once said, ‘He, who knows no foreign language, does
not know his own one.’ That is why in order to understand oneself and
environment one has to study foreign languages.
Nowadays in Kazakhstan
multilingualism becomes the trend with the English language gaining growing
popularity alongside the two existing languages (i.e. the Kazakh as the only
official language and Russian widely used as a language of interethnic
communication). While English is regarded as a condition for successful
integration into the global economy and becomes one of the priorities of the
state policy, there are some concerns towards the role of English in the
development of linguistic balance in Kazakhstan. The survey shows that English
is currently mainly used at workplace and for specific purposes such as emails,
writing a business letter, business trip abroad, etc. In terms of motives of
learning English, developing international outlook, career development and
personal growth have been mentioned as the most common reasons of English
proficiency among Kazakhstani business professionals.
In my country, English is an
important language. In the past, people learnt French or German at school. Now,
everybody is learning English. For learning a language, I think it’s important
to learn new vocabulary and grammar, but it’s also very important to practice
speaking.
N. A. Nazarbayev says “Kazakhstan
should be perceived around the world as a highly educated country. The citizen
uses three languages: Kazakh is the state language, Russian is the language of
international communication and English is the language of successful
integration into the global economy.”
Our country, Kazakhstan is having a
great success in modernization by each time and I would like to discuss the
future of Kazakhstan that includes interaction of English language, since in
intercommunication between English and our country has great importance for our
future.
Nowadays, English plays the most
important role in a life of people who are trying to get the highest level of
education and to help in developing of our country. Our future depends upon the
following generation by their strong desire to reach the aims, by endless
advancement and by the hope of finding their own place in the whole world. So,
in these processes, undoubtedly, we need a great knowledge and interest in an
English language. Since our country has pretensions to be one of the fifty
developed countries over the world in the future, we require more skills and
experiences in English world. Gradually, all the public serving centers of our
country collaborate with foreign countries and thanks to it make success in
education, business and et cetera. So our prestige increases in front of us.
Little by little English is getting more closely to the life of Kazakhstan.
Even now, there is no place where English is not necessary. Although it’s
important to speak and value our own mother tongue, it’s our obligation to know
other, foreign languages too.
If you aim to set yourself on the
best position and reach the highest level of prestige in your life, then
English is the most efficient choice. Because English is as a distinctive key
to the future which opens horizon of unimaginable possibilities and enormous
opportunities to realize our potentialities for the sake, for the future of
Kazakhstan. At such time of an increasing of international competition and
modernization and also of the fast developing in education, absolutely, we need
to have a use of English language.
Children will be learning English
starting from the first grade in all Kazakhstan schools. The novelty will be
introduced country-wide starting from the new academic year. Some of the
schools are even planning to teach several subjects in English besides the
English Language subject. These could be the subjects like Chemistry, IT,
Biology and Physics.
I want to mark that the study of
English quite a bit is important in our country. Only knowledge of language
gives large opportunities to move up before to us. For us I am much achievement
in the field of knowledge of language.
As English is one of the main
languages of international communication, trade and informational exchange, its
role has become very important for the growing economy and international
relations for Kazakhstan. For the younger generation of Kazakhstan proficiency
in English is extremely significant for future opportunities and professional
growth.

opportunities for the benefit of an independent Kazakhstan.
Now the teachers of Kazakhstan
schools pass and promote qualification in three months courses on the Cambridge
project. Here it is too needed to know three languages.
Really, the unique formula of
development of culture and languages of all ethnos is mine-out in our country;
we can that and must be proud of.
Many our fellow-citizens realize the
patriotic debt - to study to Kazakh. Understanding came besides, that knowledge
of official language is the factor of the personal competitiveness, quarry
advancement in any sphere of activity.
But work on development of official
language must be yet deeper and successive. A rising generation is necessary to
be taught to Kazakh, since kindergarten. It is very important, that this work
did not carry valid for one occasion character, did not grow into company, and,
on the contrary, had a strategic value. It is necessary to perfect methodology
of the language teaching, modernize it taking into account modern requirements.
New textbooks, methodical manuals, are needed, including on electronic
carriers. It is necessary to support initiatives of national and cultural
centers and associations in this direction.
On the whole, speaking about
efficiency of educating to the languages, we must undertake steps on a system
improvement hired. The search of innovative methods is needed. In particular,
it is necessary to create and strengthen in every area the specialized centers
on introduction of front - rank technologies of educating to the languages.
In the conclusion, we should choose
the best conditions that provide us with possibilities for self-realization,
high-quality education and perfect, satisfied future for Kazakhstan. So,
prosperity of our country is in our hands!
