Evaluation of qualitative
characteristics
of the phytocenosis
The phytocoenosis is a relatively uniform
structured plant community located within the same habitat. Is characterized by
a specific system of relationships of plants with each other and with the
external environment. The phytocoenosis is the composition of the biocenosis,
which, in turn, combined with the environment forms an ecosystem.
Vegetation affects soil properties,
microclimate, the composition of fauna, biomass and productivity of ecosystems.
The most important quality characteristic of
phytocenosis is its floral sostavlyayuschaya that defines the structure and
functions of the community, talking about the environmental conditions of life
of the community, its historical stages, the extent and nature of disturbance,
etc.
Thus, floristic composition of the phytocoenosis
is the totality of all plant species in a plant community.
Floristic composition of the phytocoenosis is
inherent in such characteristics as species richness, which describes the total
number of species in the phytocoenosis.
Species diversity of phytocenoses – the most
important aggregate characteristics and a form of saturation of ecosystems.
In assessing species diversity it is also
necessary to take into account the characteristics of the abundance and species
composition.
