Introduction. The study of respiratory diseases among pets in recent years, attracted
the attention of veterinary specialists, both in the Old and the New World. [1,
2]
Most scientists believe the main etiological factors of respiratory
pathologies animal welfare groups, which contributes to the spread of the
disease in animals of all ages and types. In other words, the study of the
prevalence and susceptibility of animals to respiratory disease is a topical
aspect of veterinary medicine.
Infectious agents that can cause respiratory disease in dogs include
viruses, bacteria, fungal organisms, parasites and protozoa.
Often the disease nosology other groups, lead to decreased immunity of
the animals, which is a favorable condition for the development of pathogenic
organisms, which in turn can cause the development of respiratory diseases.
Reference. Respiratory diseases in dogs are common in the Russian Federation, but
accurate statistics on the nature and spread of risk factors for respiratory
diseases in dogs is not enough for an objective assessment of their
significance.
Animals. Was submitted to the study of 362 dogs of different age and breed group, the study was conducted
on the basis of the "Center of Veterinary Clinical Medicine" in
Volgograd State Agricultural University, in the period from September 2014 on
September 2015.
Methods. In this study, to confirm the diagnosis, data history and clinical
examination of the animals, laboratory methods, the data of X-rays images.
(X-RAY FILM BLUE Curix RP 1 “AGFA”).
Statistics. The calculations used the t-test, F-Fisher criterion. [3]
Results. In the Autumn of respiratory disease increases sharply (57%), Winter
(18%) and Spring (18%) in the period it is average, and the lowest in Summer
(1%).
Mostly respiratory disease were observed in dogs between the ages of 0
and 5 years and older than 10 years. The largest number of diseased animals
were registered in Autumn (61%) and lowest in Summer (1%).
Conclusion and clinical
relevance. Appealing these studies, it is possible to accurately
determine the group of dogs most prone to respiratory diseases, as well as the
impact of seasonality on the distribution of the studied diseases.
