Methods of teaching of the language (on the materials of Turkish)
Today, we witness a period in which
communication between societies is being experienced in the highest level.
Political meaning of westernization process of Turkey that gained speed after
prescript of Gulhane is its obtaining membership status of EU [1]. This status
that Turkey has gained exposes all educational organs in education arena with
the obligation of development and re-regulation of present education policies.
In this sense, the most important responsibility of Turkish education organs is
to start activities making Turkish an European language at once. Because,
Turkish should be taught because of both its historical background and wideness
of land it is spoken on. When Turkey that is a candidate of EU takes its part
with its crowded population in unified way, Turkish will gain the qualification
of “need.”
Some European
countries has started a number of activities in order to specify foreign
languages that will be taught in their schools in the direction of operations
that they enforce in European Council. For example, in some education organs in
France, some pilot classrooms have been formed and some languages such as
Italian, Spanish, and Chinese are started to be taught in these classrooms as
an optional subject. The goal of this study is to specify foreign languages
taught in French schools and technical criterions of teaching of these
languages. The concerning way of this situation to education of Turkish in
Europe is the need of forming a program of Turkish teaching as a foreign
language. In this matter, the most important responsibility is to the Ministry
of National Education. Firstly, MNE should formulate political and cultural
realities related to why Turkish should be taught among European languages and
should bind this to a system within national education policy [2].
In
order to develop Turkish and make it common and an education and science
language, Turkish schools and Turkish Universities should be opened in various
countries. Thus, it should be announced that Turkish scientists should broadcast
in Turkish and write Turkish abstracts in their broadcasts, and, broadcasts in
abroad should be supported. Instead of broadcasting in foreign language in
academic promotions, broadcasting in Turkish should be stepped forward. Turkish
report, book, article, etc. should be provided free in Internet and Turkish
knowledge share should be supported all over the world. In scientific meetings
and broadcasts such as symposiums, congresses by universities and various
organizations, priority should be given to Turkish. Press, televisions, radios
broadcasting in Turkish abroad should be supported. In our products, Turkish
codes should be put. Researches about superiorities of Turkish, its features of
developing mental skills should be done and published.
In order to making Turkish teaching as a
foreign language easier, visas for all countries in world could be removed for
one-sided. People would visit Turkey can learn Turkey even while they are
walking on the street. Also, it provides inflow of foreign currency and
foreigners learn Turkish. Both public and private schools can call people all
over the world to public and private schools and apply 1-2-3-4-year Turkish education program after calculating one-month catering expense with motto, “Learn
Turkish in Turkey.” So, both foreign currency flows in country and foreigners
who would learn Turkey and Turkish will be beneficial to Turkey. In every
country, schools that teach Turkish can be opened or Turkish courses can be
given to people upon paying its expense by opening “Turkish Culture Center”
related to each country. This can be done both by state and private individual.
Ministry of
Culture and Tourism or private publishing houses can enhance the interest of
country mentioned to Turkish by taking a biggest dictionary of each country to
Turkey and by writing its words with Turkish meanings and by distributing them
in publishing houses- book stores and in fairs. Turkey needs to do this big
performance; you can make more successful policy by making people who know
language of country most involved in Ministry of Foreign Affairs [3]. This
subject concerns all people connected to tourism, export-import, and abroad
sectors.
Dictionary results between Turkish and the dictionary
of each country of world should be also formed as software and be installed in
computers, so, Turkish will be the language that can be easily learnt by people
of interests.
