THE USE OF AUTOLOGOUS PLATELET PLASMA IN DENTISTRY

 

In recent years, dentistry has received a large leap forward in terms of service improvement and introduction of the latest achievements of science. Recognition of the benefits of non-drug methods aiming to achieve stimulation of the regenerative processes of the maxillofacial area. This method to date was the injection method with the use of autoplasma rich in platelet - Plasmolifting. In dentistry the method of plasmolifting is used as in diseases of soft tissues and periodontal tissues, and in practice, surgical, orthopedic dentistry. Indications for use are: gingivitis, periodontitis, surgery targeted tissue regeneration, burns, contractures, scars, necrosis, tooth extraction, cystectomy, trauma, implants, bone grafting, sinus lifting, contouring of the alveolar process, substitution defects, periimplantitis [1,2,3,4,6,7]. Indications for use may also be not only treatment but also prevention of periodontal disease in patients at risk with accompanying pathology (e.g., diabetes), patients with dental implants [9], patients with fixed orthodontic appliances during the correction of the occlusion [8].

An important fact is that the plasmatherapy has significant advantages: simple to implement; there is no rehabilitation period after the procedure; non-toxic, natural treatments; low risk of adverse effects; the possibility of combining with other types of therapy, a minimum of contraindications. The advantage of the method Plasmolifting is an opportunity to increase the number of platelets in the tissues by increasing the volume of injected plasma. [2,3,10].

Methods of obtaining and using native plasma (PA – Platelet autoplasma) is quite simple. The patient must get blood in the original tube with a separator gel and 8.5 ml. Then the tube was placed in a centrifuge and centrifugation Protocol produced.

Separated in a test tube, a PA is taken into the syringe and injected into the zone on a transitional fold, marginal gingiva and gingival papilla. Derived from one beaker of PA is enough for one jaw. Method it is recommended to use together with the received treatment, for example, after professional hygiene and pharmacological treatment of gingival pockets [1,2,3,6].

Studies have shown that application of platelet autoplasma by the method of Plasmolifting in the treatment of inflammatory and inflammatory-destructive periodontal diseases can reduce the severity of chronic inflammation, prevention of exacerbation of the inflammatory response, prevents the development of necrotic-destructive processes; results in an almost complete regeneration of epithelial lining; prevents the development of sclerosis [1,2,3,5,10].

The method of plasmolifting is extremely relevant in gerontotechnology because in the elderly there are many factors that reduce the regenerative processes of tissues, aggravating the course of disease and worsens the forecasts for full rehabilitation. This technology is especially promising in Periodontology, where it is important to stimulate the bone [6,7,8] .

Conclusion. Using injections of platelet autoplasma in the treatment of inflammatory diseases of the mucous membrane of the oral cavity can accelerate the healing tissue with erosive-ulcerative processes to reduce the frequency of relapse, stabilize the inflammatory process, to speed up the processes of regeneration and tissue. This method is a promising direction in all sections of dentistry.
