Modern methods in complex treatment of inflammatory periodontal diseases

Periodontitis, as polietiologic disease remains the number one problem in dentistry and presents considerable difficulties in treatment for clinicians. Inflammatory periodontal diseases are the most common disease of the adult population worldwide [1,3,5]. At the present stage of development of dentistry in the treatment of inflammatory periodontal diseases provides a comprehensive approach, which aims at the elimination of inflammatory processes in the periodontal tissues, restoring the structural and functional properties of the elements of periodontal complex, increase of local and General factors of protection, which is achieved by a combination of etiotropic, pathogenetic and symptomatic therapy [2,3]. And treatment of inflammatory periodontal diseases is that known and standard methods (antibiotic therapy and courses of local therapy) does not always give a positive result and a long period of remission. Therefore, to improve the quality of medical care to patients with periodontitis should be implemented in dental practice, new innovative treatment methods. Despite the large number of proposed methods (the use of osteoplastic materials, methods directed tissue regeneration, etc.), the problem of treatment of periodontitis remains relevant. Therefore, the widespread introduction of new technologies in dental practice it is necessary to improve the quality of treatment of patients with periodontal diseases. One of these methods to date is the injection method using the plasma derived from the patient's own blood, platelet autoplasma, — received original title PlasmoliftingTM ("plasma rich platelets" (Platelet-Rich Plasma — PRP). A keen interest in the autologous conditioned plasma is primarily due to the fact that platelets contain many growth factors and cytokines to promote regeneration of damaged tissues. Due to these factors introduced into the tissue platelet plasma causes sprouting of capillaries, normalize hemodynamics, tissue respiration, metabolism [6,8,9].

PRP therapy is an injectable method of local stimulation of regenerative processes in tissues. His task is not just to achieve the removal of the inflammatory process, and start the natural regeneration process of color, shape and the structure of the mucous membrane of the oral cavity. The use of plasma with platelet count (PRP) is today one of the few possibilities to modulate and improve wound healing and resist infection without the use of drugs. The advantage of this method is plasma with a high platelet count, is able to accelerate the recovery of bone, cartilage and epithelial tissues, since the process of regeneration is universal and differs only in duration. Another advantage of this method is the improvement of microcirculation and metabolism, stimulates local immunity. Moreover, platelet growth factors cannot cause cancer because they are mutagens. [2,4,6,7]. Thus, PlasmoliftingTM is a new biotechnology in clinical practice. The use of autologous platelet plasma in dentistry is constantly expanding, emerging and introduced new forms , many clinical studies the Safety and efficacy of its use widely reported in the literature, but many unresolved questions.
