Social and environmental factors in intellectual property evaluating

Intellectual property using in own production entails a number of positive effects, such as increased profits obtained, increase production efficiency, improve product competitiveness and image of company on domestic and foreign markets. However, scientists and top economists not pay attentionis to the positive effect that accompanies intellectual property (IP) using in their production. Improving working conditions, increase safety production process, reducing harmful emissions to the surrounding seredosche are direct social and environmental effects of the IP using. It should be considered in the evaluation of these objects. No current recommendations and methodological approaches to the calculation of cost-based assessment component of social and environmental factors in the IP cost determine the relevance of this study.

The implementation of enterprises development strategy takes into account measures to cleaner production and provision of broader terms to increase social responsibility necessarily.

In Annex to Methodological Recommendations for the Profit Determination from Using Industrial Property Right [1] describes methods for calculating the social impact of the introduction of IP in the production cycle of the enterprise. However, it should be noted that the above method is narrow and needs to improvement. The study of modern IP management and using on machine-building enterprises in Zaporizhzhya region found that social and environmental factors are not taken into account during IP evaluation.

Under the social effect of the IP introduction in production offer to understand the consequences of intellectual labor, embodied in specific object of IP and contribute to the reduction of heavy physical labor, improve working conditions of workers and their creativity, increase efficiency and so on.

In our opinion, the social factor has direct and indirect effects. The direct effect involves impacts, which associated with improving working conditions and increasing productivity. The indirect effects resulting from reduced tax payments increase, more investment in innovation activities of enterprises, further development than taxable, opening creative abilities and support the creative activity of the workers. As a result of this process, business costs that accompany the work to promote intellectual activity, the creation and using intellectual property initiate additional increase investment flows in the evolution of the enterprise, education and training of workers as an essential component of the process of intellectualization, improvement of market relations in the field of intellectual property, increase competitiveness of domestic products on the global level and the development of related industries.

Creating conditions for promoting intellectual and creative activities in the enterprise involves increasing educational and skill level of the workforce. So establishing ties with universities and vocational schools will promote the development of vocational education and broader integration of science and technology.

Under the environmental effect suggest understood introduction of intellectual property, such are environmental technologies and energy-saving technologies, reduce the use and emissions of harmful substances during the manufacturing process and generally improve the ecological situation in the region.

Thus, it should be noted that under the social and environmental effects of the intellectual property using in engineering enterprises be understood to improve health, reduce occupational disease, prolonging life, implementation environmental and energy-saving technologies, in general - better demographic and ecological situation in the region . Social and environmental effects that are achieved in a specific enterprise is part of a regional effect. The study of social and environmental factors during IP evaluating in engineering industry is important.

Development and implementation of methodological approaches to assessing IPO should provide a more comprehensive and objective evaluation of ITNs, including social and environmental innovation company.
