THE USE OF IFORMATION AND COMMUNICATIve TECHNOLOGIES IN TRAINING
PSYCHOLOGY TEACHERS AND PRESCHOOL EDUCATION SPECIALISTS AS THE BASIS OF A TRAINING
PROCESS IMPROVEMENT AT A UNIVERSITY
The
accession of Kazakhstan to Bolognese process is an absolute evidence of the
international recognition of our higher education system. It binds Kazakhstan
to complete modernization of the education and in the sequel to provide it
according to European regulations and standards. The introduction of Bolognese declaration requires profound
reforming the structure and content of education, training technologies,
material and methodological support.
The
point of the changes lies in increasing the requirements to training
specialists with higher psychological and pedagogical education since social
and economical changes that take place in the society, put forward an urgent
goal before educational systems - to
develop a creative individual of a student who has his own way of thinking and
original approach to solving new tasks and problems.
In the
terms of changing educational paradigms, the professional activity of
psychology teachers and preschool training specialists gets considerably
sophisticated brining up to date internal, psychological and intellectual
resources of an individual.
Steadiness,
stability and quality of the professional activity of psychology teachers and
preschool education specialists is stipulated by their professional and
pedagogical training characteristics.
It is
impossible to organize the system of psychology teachers and preschool
education specialists training, to develop their availability for professional
activity in isolation from general professional training and specificity of the
activity.
An
important factor of increasing the efficiency of educational and methodological
work is to use of information and communication technologies (ICT).
At the
stage of informatization, a society is characterized by the process of active
using information as a social product, in connection with which, a highly
organized information environment takes place and it influences all spheres of
this society members' life activity.
Information
environment includes a lot of information objects and connections between them,
means and technologies of collection, accumulation, transfer, processing,
producing and dissemination, knowledge
proper, organizational and legal structures supporting information processes. A
society while creating information surrounding, functions in it, changes and
improves it. Modern scientific researches convince that the improvement of a society information surrounding initiates
the formation of progressive tendencies in developing production forces,
processes of members' society intelligence growth in all its spheres including
an educational sphere, changes in social relations and interconnections.
Extensive
use of information resources being a product of intellectual activity of the
most qualified society part defines the necessity to train professional
teachers who will be focused on the future. Social expectations including the
attitude towards education as a global factor of development gave rise such a
conception as advance education (A.D.Ursul), developed in transactions
of E.V.Bondarevskaya.
By
reason of this, it becomes actual to develop certain methodological approaches
to using ICT for the purpose of advance education ideas implementation,
particularly for the developing creative potential of an individual, develop
students' ability to predict the results of their activity, to develop the strategy of searching the ways and
methods of solving problems both educational and practical. Psychological,
pedagogical and methodological learning aids oriented focused on revealing
optimal conditions to use ICT in order to intensify the teaching process and,
its efficiency and quality. Taking into account the above-stated, the main
pedagogical goal of using ICT is to improve trainee's individuality, to prepare
him for comfort life in the conditions of information society. Here, the
following challenges are met:
-
thinking development (such as visually efficient, visually figurative,
intuitive, creative and theoretical);
-
aesthetic education (e.g., use of computer graphic, multimedia);
-
developing communicative abilities;
-
developing abilities to make decisions or suggest variants of solving
problems in a difficult situation (use of computer games oriented to
optimization of decision-making ability);
-
developing abilities to realize experimental and research work (e.g.,
computer simulation technique or the equipment mating a computer);
-
developing information culture, abilities to process information (use of
integrated user's clusters, different graphics and music editor).
The
urgency of the above-listed is defined not only by a social law but also by
individual needs in self-determination and self-actualization in modern
society.
During
the past decade the ICT development has made it possible for educational
organizations to use completely new types of information support. It has become
possible to use electronic textbooks and scientific publications which provides
doctoral candidates, undergraduates, students and teachers with actual
educational scientific information and makes it possible to integrate into the
global scientific space. In new conditions, teacher's information requirements
also include requirements to master ICT which favors progress of a researcher's personality, who is
trained in developing information surrounding of an educational organization.
The
society of information technologies or, as it is called, post-industrial
society is interested in its citizens to be able to act on their own, make
decisions, adapt to changing life conditions.
To
solve all these tasks it is necessary:
-
involving every student into active cognitive process;
-
putting received knowledge into practice;
-
working jointly to solve different problems;
-
associating with their age students from other universities, regions and
countries;
-
free access to all necessary information (at scientific, cultural,
informational centers of a city, country and the whole world) in order to
create students' own independent but well-reasoned opinion;
-
constant testing their intellectual, physical, moral strength in solving
arising problems.
The use
of modern technologies makes it possible to get knowledge by means of cognitive
activity.
For
activity arrangement the following means are used:
-
a university library information system (as a technological platform
which simplifies and speeds up search and selection of traditional printed
information resources and electronic multimedia textbooks from a university
library) providing access both to a local net and I-Net via a web-server;
-
remote resources (available via free Kazakhstani and international
e-portals which require mastering I-Net technologies);
-
electronic resources of library consortiums;
-
international resources, like electronic vault of scientific publishers,
providing data access to urgent scientific publications, analytical materials
of research centers and also the possibility of publishing the results of their
research activity;
-
information resources of open access intended to manage training process
and providing teachers with information technologies and methods of teaching.
Technological
support of teachers' information activity based on ICT technologies with the
described content is provided by successive study of:
-
program interface to electronic library catalogue access, acquisition
service and ordering books in local network (to request necessary literature
for training and research purposes);
-
internet services and technologies of record retrieval and information
interchange in I-Net, educational content control (analysis of educational and internet resources content
for professional and personality development, their practicality from the
methodological point of view – approbation of the most effective methods of
teaching in ICT world);
-
program access mechanism to electronic library and publishing resources
(extension of used information resources for scientific and educational
purposes, prevalence of scientific and methodological results in corresponding
environment). Such approach to information resources for supporting the process
of professional development helps to include extra motivating factors into the
educational process of adult learners, connected with increasing the
effectiveness of the professional activity of the teachers’ association in the
scientific and educational spheres.
The development of multimedia makes it possible to use new forms of
educational process one of which is electronic lectures and presentations. The
lectures are written in Power Point program and structured the way that slides
include themes and questions for the lecture, main conceptions, schemes,
pictures and animations. In general, such lectures are like an electronic
textbook. Students and undergraduates can work individually on their personal
computer.
Summarizing the above-stated, it is possible to confirm that the use of
telecommunications network makes it possible to spread around advanced
pedagogical technologies, implement the ideas of distance learning. It also
facilitates general development of future psychology educationists and specialists
for pre-school education.
