Methods of
educating English with games.
In
our days teachers look over an affecting arsenal minds, the will, emotions of students with the purpose
of their introduction to the rich world of culture and traditions of country of
the studied language. Ways and methods of forming of all types of speech
activity are looked over: reading, talking, listening comprehensions, letters.
Activations of educational process, stimulation of cognitive activity are
assisted by introduction in the process of educating, along with traditional
employments, playing technologies.
Reason of so enhanceable presently
interest in different family of games - it, first of all, walking away from
traditional forms and methods of educating. It is necessary also to mark that
at maintenance of high enough motivation there is a decline of cognitive
interest in the study of foreign language. This phenomenon takes place in
connection with that students run into some difficulties that seem him
insuperable. Playing activity, being one of methods a stimulant
educational-cognitive activity, allows using all levels of mastering of
knowledge. Consequently, interest is not casual in the use on the lessons of
foreign language of playing technologies.
Numerous train aids, methodical
developments is used in practice of teaching of foreign languages, materials to
realization of various games with the use of material of foreign language.
In opinion of Elkonin D.B, “a human game
is such activity in that social relations are recreated between people out of
terms directly to utilitarian activity”.
In the "Large encyclopedia" a
game is examined as "employment, not having a practical goal and serving
for entertainment and fun, and also application in practice of some arts
(playing the stage, playing the musical instrument)"
Application of game assists communicative-active character of educating,
to the psychological orientation of lessons on development of cogitative
activity students facilities of the studied language, optimizations of
intellectual activity students in an educational process, complexity of
educating, to intensification of him and development of group forms of work.
Obviously, that forming of speech skills and abilities must go to the terms
maximally close to those, what can meet at natural communication, and the
process of educating must be built on the decision of the system of
communicative tasks by means of language material. By the means of pedagogical
management educational activity are communicative tasks through that a teacher
invites and engages students in creative activity.
Cognitive games can contain the elements
of role plays that present large complication for students already. Application
of role plays is most actual on the lessons of foreign language, which
explained by the features of this object a primary objective of that is the
language teaching as to the means of intercourse. A game helps to provide
mutual communication of all participants and explains speech activity. A role
play matters very much in development of mechanism of child's perception that
is leading activity of child, in particular in a childhood.
After
the receipt of experience of playing off roles students are prepared enough to
the business games. So that the participants of games operated adequately, it
is desirable on the certain topic to organize the system of imitation methods,
studying material through an analysis and decision of situations, cognitive,
role and business games.
Thus, train game is one of methods of
organization of educational-cognitive activity. Application of playing educating - a not simply entertaining
reception or method of organization of cognitive material. A game possesses
enormous heuristic and convincing potential. Being entered in the traditional
departmental teaching, a game allows using all levels of mastering of
knowledge: from playback activity through transforming to the primary objective
- creative-searching activity.
In accordance with an application of playing
approach domain developments of games are conducted in educating. Thus the
games of preschool children, schoolchildren of all age categories, games
designing certain pedagogical situations with the purpose of forming for the
future teachers of pedagogical abilities, become the article of research.
Presently
in pedagogic of the USA and England drams is developed as role plays, setting
of that to teach schoolchildren to be oriented in vital situations, help to
understand reasons and feelings of other people, form experience of the
socially oriented behavior. In universities, colleges, business schools and
large industrial companies imitation-playing approach is widely used for the
design of different spheres of professional activity.
In
works of the last years considerable attention is spared to the types of games,
terms of their realization, to the receptions of organization
educational-playing cooperation. At the same time, it is necessary to underline
that developing, educative the teaching functions of train game to a full
degree yet not educed, and the playing going near educating frequently proves
to be correct a practical effect, but not completed didactic methodological
grounds.
Thus,
a game can be not only a pleasant pastime but also dominating technology of
education.
Superiority
of game above other facilities of educating reveals in that she is able to
provide not only individual but also pair, group and collective form of work on
employment, that allows to every taught maximally effectively to use
educational time.
There
are a few groups of games, developing an intellect, cognitive activity of
child.
I
group is subject games, as manipulations with toys and objects. Through toys
are objects - children cognize a form, color, volume, material, world of
animals, and world of people and etc.
II
group is games creative, subject - role, in that a plot is a form of
intellectual activity.
For
example, a game is “Ambassadors”:
A
class is divided by sub-groups, no less than 5 persons. Every group thinks, for
example, a profession or celebrity et
cetera. Assuming this role, one representative goes to other group and answers
there questions on behalf of this personage. If guess, who he, he is taken in a
"captivity", and a group chooses other ambassador. A that group that
was able to take a captive the greater amount of captives wins.
We come to the conclusion, that during a role
play a methodological structure and functions was reduced.
In
particular, next functions were distinguished:

Incentive-motivational;
-
orienting;
-
Educator.
From
opening of concept of game it is possible to distinguish the row of generals’
teachers, psychologists of different schools:
1.
A game comes forward the independent type of developing activity of children
different ages.
2.
A game of children is same free form of their activity that is realized, the
surrounding world is studied, wide spread of country is opened for the personal
work, activity of self-knowledge, self-expression.
3.
A game is the first stage of activity of child, primordial school of his behavior,
normative and equal in rights activity of junior schoolchildren, teenagers,
youth, changing the aims as far as maturing of students.
4.
A game is practical worker of development. Children play, because develop, and
develop, because play.
5.
A game is opening freedom, development with support on a subconsciousnes,
reason and work.
6.
A game is a main sphere of communication of children; the problems of
interpersonality relations decide in her, gained experience mutual relations of
people.
A
game provides the emotional affecting taught activates reserve possibilities of
personality. She facilitates a capture knowledge, skills and abilities, assists
their actualization. Educational game-exercise helps to activate, fasten,
control and correct knowledge, skills and abilities, creates educational and
pedagogical evidentness in the study of certain material. She creates terms for
active cogitative activity of her participants. A Game-task, containing an
educational task, stimulates intellectual activity of taught, teaches to
forecast, investigate and validate made decision or hypotheses. She is the
family the indicator of success students in a capture educational discipline,
by submitting a soba one of forms and facilities of report, control and of
self-control of students. Train game brings up the culture of communication and
forms ability to work in a collective and with a collective. All of it
determines the functions of train game as means psychological,
socially-psychological and pedagogical affecting personality.
Translating
the task of educating to the foreign language in the task of foreign
communication in the process of joint activity, having personality meaningfulness for every
participant of this activity, terms are
created for the powerful jump of level
of motivation of capture a language, speech, communication.
Methodology
of the use of playing receptions in educating to the foreign languages is
worked out, mainly, in the didactics of the early educating (for the children
of preschool, junior school age). Application of playing technologies at
educating to the foreign language effectively not only in school age but also
as it applies to an adult audience. It is necessary to pay attention to the
games, supposing the elements of competition between separate collectives, to
the intellectual games (to the cross-words, lotto, puzzles) and, especially,
role play.
The
insufficient worked out of problem of the use of playing technologies and
underestimation of their application is in the institution of higher learning
educating, requires,, serious attention of specialist in didactics. The
question here is at possibilities of integration of the receptions and methods,
used in the didactics of the early educating to the foreign languages,
institution of higher learning didactics. We are sure, and it is confirmed in
practice, use of game of both reception of educating of foreign speech activity
effectively both in child's and in adult audience.
Methodological
value of application of playing the lessons of foreign language, consisting in
that participating in a game forms the row of psychical new formations for a
child. This imagination and consciousness, that allow carrying properties of
one thing him on other; forming of character of human relations that give the
defined value one or another action of separate man. He has an intelligent
orientation in the own experiencing, a child aims to generalize them. On the
basis of all of it for him skills of cultural behavior can be formed, that
allows to him effectively to join in collective and individual activity.
