SHAPING STUDENTS’ PHYSICAL EDUCATION AT TECHNICAL HIGHER EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS

Physical  culture at higher educational institutions is presented as one of the most important basic components of shaping students’ general culture.  Motivational  personality sphere, width and depth of theoretical and methodical-practical knowledge in the field of physical culture and its types become the most important elements of shaping students’ physical culture.  Value relation to physical culture is acquired by a personality in the process of his or her own eager activity, and the effectiveness of the given process depends upon the realization of the principle of physical, intellectual and moral  unity .

In recent years they more often talk about physical culture not as only social phenomenon, but also as about stable personality quality; that is why education at a higher educational institution is oriented on training a student as a subject of his or her own physical culture.  Physical culture being one of general culture side determines human behavior in studying, working place, everyday life in many ways; it helps to solve social-economic, educational,  health-improving problems.

Student’s health culture is integral personality measure shaped in the process of systematic purposive education on the basis of emotional-value relation to his or her health, to organization of healthy life-style, valeological thinking, experience accumulating, using valeological knowledge and skills in practice of healthy life-style organization, developing all components of valeological thinking.

Health culture content includes three components:

Intellectual one is knowledge in the valeology, healthy life-style organization,  conservation and promotion of health;

Emotional-value one is active positive relation to his or her health, to healthy life-style organization;

Effective-practical one is using valeological knowledge and skills in practice of healthy life-style organization .

The problem of improving physical education is caused first of all by student youth health worsening. Numerous research shows that physical-sport activity has not become  a vital need for the majority of students; and health and physical training are not among key values for substantial proportion of youth.

The problem of student health culture self-development is of special urgency. The quality of training young specialists today, developing and using intellectual potential of the society, its health depend upon the  solution of this problem.

Thus, at present, the number of students who do not attend physical training classes or who attend special medical group for health reasons is growing.

It is especially important to organize exercises correctly to escape forming so-called “vicious circle” for the students who attend special medical groups. Its gist is that motor impairment  results in worsening of organism functional state, and this, in turn, results in deficiency in ability to exercises so important for reaching health-improving effect.  Thus,  we have paradoxical situation: an organism needs exercises, but being underloaded  it loses the ability to display motor activity.  It is the situation that we observe with the students attending the special medical group, and , overwhelming majority of this category students are not interested in exercises at all.

The major cause of it is not just the absence of a state program stipulating differentiation of exercises and physical activity character offered to the students with different diseases, but  which is especially important is the absence of  attending special groups  students’ proper encouragement for exercises.

It is important, that the process of physical training  improvement for the students of technical higher educational  institutions  was personally important for them. Realization of  person-oriented approach may be done by using individual programs. Involving students into developing improvement programs “for themselves” will result in, first of all, exercises self-actualization   with clear understanding of set goals and the ways of reaching them. Besides, in the process of such work there is the need to get necessary knowledge  which promotes self-development, stimulates independent studying literature. It is also noted, that in the result of individual programs psycho-emotional condition of the students attending such group is improving.

         To shape technical higher educational institution student’s health regardless of the group they attend for health reasons it is promising to use such types of motor activity as swimming, aerobics, sport dances, volleyball, skiing, etc. in the process of physical training.

Physical culture being a part of  general culture is presented as an academic discipline in a technical higher educational institution and becomes an integral component of  integral personality development, students’ professional training, their vital activity harmonization.
