THE USE OF TESTING IN THE ORGANIZATION OF INDEPENDENT WORK OF STUDENTS

At the present stage of development of society the main aim of education becomes the development of creativity, research abilities, information competence, ensuring the pace of development of science, production, culture, economy.

The most effective development of these qualities of students possible in the process of organization of their independent work, support of self-development. Stable development trend of the world educational space is the use of modern information technology, which includes the visualization of knowledge, modeling of processes and phenomena and so forth, increase the interest of students in obtaining new knowledge.

Gradually the curricula, the ratio of time spent on classroom training and self-training, increases in favor of the latter. The teacher needs to organize this process and manage it. Self-preparation is exposed to both theoretical learning and the solution of practical problems.

The organization of independent work is not possible without modern means of training and maximum use of their potential.

In these circumstances, many questions arise related to the technology of testing of the material studied, specifically with the technology of self-control. The greatest efficiency of independent work is provided by modern information technology.

The most effective method of self-control in this situation is testing. The issue of testing was discussed at different levels and in different aspects. This method has certainly many positive aspects. Using automated testing systems the student can independently validate their training for a given material. Typically, an examinee answering a certain number of questions, then displays a table with the results. In some cases, contain the correct and incorrect answers to test items. Others have just given the result with the number of correct and incorrect answers.

However, when applying the test for self-control there are some features. Consider some of them.

First, after each response to a question, the learner should be given the opportunity to view the comment made by the teacher during the creation of test tasks.

Second, in testing systems intended for self-control should be control step by step, as learning material, as well as in a combined test, all passed themes.

Thirdly, would be an interesting feature that allows to automatically design a test which will contain test tasks, which was given an incorrect answer in the current session.

Fourth, it is desirable that the algorithm testing system was laid by the function of displaying on the screen of statistical information that includes information that facilitates understanding of the true state of Affairs at the moment. This can be information on the number of correct and incorrect answers, the remaining time for testing.

Fifth, good results can be achieved, if the testing system used for self-control, to use the technology of computer adaptive testing. Depending on the outcome of the response to the test task, the student gets the next question or a higher level, or lower.

Sixthly, regular self-control allows the trainee to compare their knowledge at the current time with the previous one.

The success of self-control as one of the forms of control largely depends on the professional training of the teacher. In fact it is involved directly in the organization of this process. Thus, if each student will develop the abilities and skills of self-education, self-sufficiency in the learning process, is properly motivated, then society will ultimately receive proactive, motivated, active and independent experts.
